CHAPTER 12: THE CALL SHE NEVER ANSWERED
Isla knew something was wrong before anyone told her. A message that didn’t get a reply, then another and the worst of all, calls went straight to voicemail.
She stared at her phone, chewing the inside of her cheek.
“Arianna, don’t do this today,” she muttered under her breath, pacing her small apartment.
She tried calling again,all calls went straight to Voicemail again and again and now she was annoyed.
“Wow. So now you’re ignoring me?” she scoffed, grabbing her bag. “After everything I said yesterday? Rude.”
But even as she said it, something didn’t sit right, it's just that confidence that Arianna didn’t ignore her.
