The next few hours were hectic. We piled all the rogues’ bodies on one side and burned them, including Boris. I burned his body twice and stood there until he was nothing but ashes, just to be sure.
We had lost some brave warriors in the attack, while others were being treated for their injuries at the hospital. The pack hospital was packed, but the medical staff was doing an excellent job attending to everyone.
“Honey!”
“Mom, I’m alright,” I replied.
“Thank goodness.” I could feel her relief from here. I couldn’t wait to hug her tight.
I felt arms around me from behind, and I turned my head to look up, knowing it was Hayes holding me. “You should rest. You look exhausted.”
