THE ESCAPE

The scientists had sleepless nights trying to figure out a way to reverse the zombie effect on their patients. They didn't have any luck in correcting their mistake but still tried their best. On the other hand, the zombies were conspiring on ways to get free and start new lives.

Marcus tried to convince them to wait for a solution to their zombie problem but they didn't want to turn back to normal.

PATIENT : Why would you want to go to your normal self dude. You are more advanced than before and you can do greater things.

MARCUS : I know but what if we get completely consumed by this zombie effect and become monstrous causing harm on innocent lives.

PATIENT : I think we can control ourselves. (speaks doubtfully).

The patients saw Marcus as of no use to them since he wasn't interested in breaking free so they went ahead and planned their escape without him. They were to wait till night fall when the scientists leave their lab and commence with their escape.

When it was night time, the scientists locked the facility and left.

PATIENT 1 : It's time folks.

They took deep breathes and hit their cube doors so hard that they came off their hinges.

PATIENT 2 : Wow! Super strength too. That's awesome.

MARCUS : You don't have to do this guys, they can help us.

PATIENT 1 : We don't need help.

The patients rushed to the main door and tried to kick it down together at once since it was bigger and tougher. It took them a while but the door eventually gave in after a few power kicks.

(Bright light blinds the patients)

SOLDIER : Hands up. (shouts).

PATIENT 2 : We're screwed guys. I think we triggered the alarm after knocking down our cube doors.

The zombies didn't know that Zeke had requested for security from the state officials. They were in some deep trouble indeed.

PATIENT 3 : What now guys?

PATIENT 1 : Lets teach these assholes a lesson. I bet they don't stand a chance against us.

The zombies charged towards the blinding lights to fight the soldiers. On seeing this, the soldiers opened fire but the bullets didn't seem to work on the zombies, it only slowed them down, a little. The zombies tore the soldiers limbs from their bodies and crushed their skulls. They seemed to enjoy killing. As the last soldier took his last breath. They ran into the woods and kept running until they were miles away from the facility.
