World of the Z's

THE ENCOUNTER

The gang sweeps out the entire forest but there's no trace of the Z's. As they move on, they spot a fresh deer carcass in front of them and Marcus approaches it.

MARCUS : I think they did this. Their scent is all over this carcass but they ain't close.

BRAD : I see your patients can control their appetite. Instead of feeding on helpless humans they choose to eat an animal. That's nice of them. (speaks mockingly).

ZEKE : Yeah, they ain't that monstrous as you thought.

As they go on with their long fruitless search, they eventually spot the bunch and decide to approach them. Marcus decides to take the lead since they are one and the same. Brad orders his troop to surround the Z's and to be ready for anything. Brad's team gets spotted by the Z's but they've got no where to run.

Marcus approaches them and tries to talk them into surrendering themselves.

PATIENT 1: You've betrayed your own kind for these fools who only care for their personal interests.(speaks angrily).

MARCUS : This fools can help us man. Stop being stubborn and come with us.

PATIENT 1 : No!

(The patient attacks Marcus and fights him brutally)

BRAD : Stoooooop! (fires his gun in the air to capture their attention).

PATIENT 1 : I swear I'll drop this soldiers one by one if you don't let us go in peace.

MARCUS : There's no need for more blood shed. We won't force you to surrender anymore but think of the innocent lives your risking guys by not wanting treatment. You don't know if you'll turn into complete zombie monsters and not be able to control your appetite and start feeding on innocent humans. Please do the right thing.

PATIENT 1 : (cries)

As the zombie leader is about to give in, Brad receives a call from one of the state officials and that captures Steve's attention (patient 1).

STATE OFFICIAL : Have you captured my weapons?

BRAD : Not yet sir but the infected scientists is talking them into surrendering.

Before he could even end the call, Steve and his fellow Z's unleash their wrath upon the soldiers.

MARCUS : Whaaaat! You tricked me into helping you and after all you wanted to use these patients as weapons. (Marcus grabs Brad by his neck and strangles him).

ZEKE : Don't kill him Marcus. As much as he deserves to die, you don't have to be the one to end him. (Zeke grabs a gun from a dead soldier and shoots Brad himself).

All the soldiers laying lifeless on the forest floor and the Z's covered with blood all over, Steve cools down and doesn't see Marcus' team as a threat since they turned on Brad and came to see who he really is.

"This was their plan after all?" Zeke speaks in disbelief. "How can they want to weaponize our patients. I thought they wanted to cure them, they surely deceived us." Zeke sobs.

STEVE : No one is to be trusted.

MARCUS : For sure. You have to get away from here, I'll look for you when I know the full motive of our employers. In the meantime, stay safe and don't harm anyone.

STEVE : Okay but we will be close by incase you need our help. I'm sure Brad's bosses will come for you. (he runs off with his fellow Z's).

The scientists head back to their lab to try and make sense out of what just happened. As steve said, the state officials will be on their radar and Zeke knows how dangerous and powerful they are so he advises his team to take precautions and not to trust anyone who comes their way.
