  Mia's POV   One week later ...   After days of hiding in my room, feeling sorry for myself, I finally managed to drag myself out of bed and into the shower. Washing my hair and conditioning always made me feel a ton better—like I was washing away some of the weight I'd been carrying. My mind was exhausted from endless spirals of thought, and my heart ached from everything I'd been dragged through. As I wrapped a towel around myself, I stared at my reflection in the mirror, searching my eyes for some hint of strength I wasn't sure I had left.
