"I am so sorry that your sister was treated that way." I turned to Nathan once Mia had driven off. My mother glared at me but remained tight-lipped.
Nathan just gave me a nod but made no eye contact with me. I felt bad for him. He would probably have second thoughts about marrying my sister, now that my mother had made it clear she would not accept Mia.
"Colin, I want a word with you," my mother said firmly, as my father stood behind her, looking like he had had enough.
