Skyler’s POV I heard a distorted voice coming from beside me but I couldn’t make out what they were saying or who it was. My eyelids were too heavy to open. As soon as I tried to move my whole body radiated in pain. Even opening my mouth to scream caused me pain. It hurt to even breathe. My skin felt like it was melting, my veins were pumping fire through my body. The more I writhed, the more the pain increased. I inhaled deeply trying to get air but it burned my lungs. Using my fingers I rubbed the surface I was lying on, it felt like damp concrete, I must be on the floor. “What a worthless human.” I understood the voice next to me.
