The training grounds were empty except for Theron and me. Dawn was just breaking, the air was still cold from the night.
"Again," Theron said. "Focus on the flame, make it bigger."
I held out my hand. Concentrated on the small fire dancing in my palm and pushed more energy into it. The flame grew. From candle-sized to torch-sized in seconds.
"Good." Theron circled me. "Now split it into flames instead of one."
