Beatrice POV
The moon was full and bright when I slipped out of the keep, my brothers thought I was sleeping. They'd been watching me closer since dinner, but I'd gotten good at sneaking past them.
Darius was waiting by the rose garden. He stepped out of the shadows when I approached, his green eyes catching the moonlight.
"You came." He pulled me close immediately.
"Did you think I wouldn't?" I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"Your brothers have been hovering." He kissed my temple. "Thought they might lock you in your room."
"They tried." I laughed softly. "Kaelen's watching my balcony. Good thing there are servant passages."
"Clever mate." His hands slid down my back. "I've missed you."
"We saw each other at dinner yesterday."
