Beatrice POV I found a package outside my door the next morning. No note, just a small wooden box wrapped in blue cloth. I picked it up carefully and brought it inside. The box opened easily. Inside was a hair comb, carved from dark wood with small crystals embedded in the handle. It was beautiful. Too beautiful for me. A knock made me look up. Kaelen stood in the doorway. "Did you leave this?" I asked, holding up the comb. "Maybe." He stepped inside, moving quietly like always. "Do you like it?" "It's too much," I said automatically. "It's just a comb."
