SONIA’S POV
The very next day, I’m closed from work earlier than I usually should because I have to be home in time to leave for lunch with Anthony at Grandpa Alistair’s.
As I exit the building, I’m grateful that I didn’t need to explain last night’s event to anyone, especially Sam, because she didn’t even show up to work today. I figure that I don’t need to worry about James since I’m sure he realizes that it’s none of his business, and he can’t exactly ask me about Anthony just out of the blues.
I fetch out my phone from my purse to give Sam a call as I head for the bus terminal. But just as Sam’s number begins to connect, I spot about six very out of place looking men acting like they suddenly need to leave, and I immediately know who they are.
