3. The Beaulieu Wolves

1706 Words
Flashback 5 years ago Alma I could feel my hands begin to sweat, my face becoming extremely warm. The eyes of all our people pierced into my sister and I, all of them waiting eagerly. This night, the one Maeve and I had been looking forward to since we were able to talk was finally happening. All night we were up, giddily talking about our futures and our wolves. The possibility of finding our mates, the plans to rule next to one another, always together. I was technically a minute older than Maeve, but despite my slight seniority over her, we had quickly concurred that we would do this together. Our parents and the High Chamber fully supported us, thinking it a fine idea to have her knowledge and strength paired with my grace and leadership. And to be honest, having Maeve by my side gave me the security and confidence to lead a powerful kingdom. There is no one who could understand and bear this burden alongside me while also remaining grounded, except Maeve. I mean look at how tonight began! My whole world crumbled with the inconvenience of a minor fashion mistake and instead of turning away and leaving me alone, she stepped up and saved my ass, turning tonight into a beautiful night to remember. That was what she did best; finding solutions to problems and doing so with patience. The truth is, Maeve was my other half and the day we find our mates will be very hard. I couldn't lose my best friend to some dusty ass man or woman! Our father's voice snapped me out of my nostalgia, bringing my full attention to him. "The Palisa Kingdom welcomes all to celebrate the most precious gift the Moon Goddess could bestow us; the day we receive our wolves!" Magnus boomed. "It warms all of our hearts to be able to share this day with all of you, from neighboring packs, to our allies, and especially all the loyal friends our family has the privilege of being surrounded by. Tonight, our daughters take the next step into any wolf's life, and with that, the duty to carry on our reign in peace! When the moon reaches its peak, we will run with the next generation, leading us into a hopeful and bright future!" Our mother projects her royal aura and immense adoration flows through all of her people, along with myself. She sure makes it hard to live up to her image, thanks ma. The crowd howls and applauds and, with a flick of the Kings' wrist, music begins to play and everyone returns to the festivities. Maeve and I are dismissed for the time being and spend our night dancing with our friends. "Hey!" I heard from behind me. I turn and see Fable standing there, a smirk on her face. "I like the dress, but where is the one you badgered me to make for you?" My heart beats fast and a small ringing begins in my ears. "Sorry, what? You f****d up my dress? Is that what you said? I can't hear you over all this noise sorry!" I shouted back, feigning like the music was too loud. She and I both know that isn't true, my hearing is exceptionally good because, well, duh! Werewolf. She just laughs in my face and turns away, her short blond hair swaying as she goes. I stop dancing when I hear it. "Meet me under the stair case," I hear whispered to me. My heart launches itself into my throat and I quickly find Maeve. "I gotta pee! I'll see you in a second!" I told her once I found her. Do you want me to come? She mind links me. No! I'll be fast! Meet you back for the ceremony! I linked back, heading away from the ballroom and down a hallway as silently as I could muster. I catch a glimpse at the moon as I pass by a window and a whimper sounds in my head. My Wolf! I think, pausing to admire the view from the palace windows and basking in the light. Hello, Alma. I have waited so long to connect with you. I am Artemis. I danced a little, so excited to finally meet her. Oh, I bet she's beautiful. Oh, I am beautiful. I hear a snort in my head and I roll my eyes just a bit. Sharing my head with this sharp-tongued b***h might be a struggle. Excuse me, I'm YOUR sharp-tongued b***h now. I hear her laugh at me. Where are we going? It's almost time to come out! I laughed to myself at the irony. I need a second, okay! Het Arty, can you sense our mate at all? I asked nervously. I cannot. Why do you ask? My heart sinks at that. Hey, don't shut me out. I know your memories like the back of my paw. I need a few minutes to myself if that's alright. I need to break the news to someone I care about... Understandable. I am here for you always. She puts up a wall to give me the privacy I need and I silently thank her. I sighed and turned away from the window, making my way to the little bookcase under the stairs. This had been our spot for a year, and now it would forever be a reminder. I push slightly against it, opening the passage to slip in when an arm shoots out and pulls me forward. Before I can react, I'm against the wall, Fable's hand greedily around my neck, her lips on mine. Immediately, my hands go to her short hair, tangling my fingers in its silky softness. She moans softly, licking my lower lip before grabbing it in her teeth. We battle with our tongues and her hands tear at my dress, fervently trying to gain access to my center. She teases me before pushing my panties to the side and tracing my folds. I'm about to let out a cry of pleasure when her free hand covers my mouth. "Shhhhh, " she purrs to me, her brown eyes staring into mine, making my stomach flutter. She turns her attention back to my exposed skin, inserting one finger then the second. My eyes roll back and my hands are reaching for her plump breasts, dying for one last feel. I hear Artemis' voice in my head telling me we were almost out of time. Goddess bless this wolf and her time-keeping. Fable increases her tempo, in and out, using her thumb to circle my throbbing bud and I feel my release coming. I squeeze her n*****s gently between my thumb and finger, earning a cry which pushes me over. My body stiffens and it feels like wave after wave of pure bliss as my p***y throbs, my juices dripping out as she slowly pumps her fingers, letting me ride my high. I am breathless as I look into her face, remembering all our heated times in this small nook. "Moons *pant* almost at *pant* it's peak," I gasped out. Fable smiles at me knowingly. "You have 8 minutes, wolf," "I only need 3, b***h," I sneered at her, flipping her against the wall. Oh you are a dog! Artemis howls in my head. I knelt before her, throwing her leg over my shoulder and pulling her dress up, maintaining eye contact the whole time as I began... Maeve Where was she? I was standing by the waterfall in our courtyard in my robe, waiting for my never-on-time sister. Right when the last of the crowd started to show up, I see Alma calmly glide over to me wearing her robe as well. "Seriously Al?! Nearly late? Come on," I hissed at her, only for her to giggle at herself like she found a joke in my scold. The King and Queen eye us both in warning before addressing the crowd. "We gather here, beneath the falls, to partake in Alma May Beaulieu and Maeve LeAnn Bealieu's first shift! My Princesses, call forward your wolf," Magnus commanded. I closed my eyes, seeking for my wolf. I could feel the moonlight wash over me as it moved from behind the clouds. Maeve! I was startled at first, opening my eyes to look around only to see Alma's eyes glowing green, her wolf's presence known. Come out! I urged, receiving an annoyed snort as I felt myself being pushed into the back of my mind. I was seeing everything as if I was watching a movie, but it was still me at the same time and my senses were still active. "I am Aila." I heard my wolf speak to my parents, her voice full of power. "I am Artemis." I heard my sisters wolf speak from her, equally projecting great authority. My mother and father omitted their own aura, submitting our bold wolves, but pride swelled in their eyes. Then I felt it. My bones snapping, my spine jerking in vicious spasms. The most intrusive and exhilarating pain shooting through every nerve in my body. It felt as if I had passed out, but when my vision seemed to clear, everything was sharper. I could smell so many scents, so much bolder and very overwhelming. I could hear every heart beat in the audience. Aila, are we all wolfed up? I asked her timidly. I thought it was obvious. she retorts back. I rolled my eyes. Both Aila and Artemis bowed deeply to the King and Queen, showing their respect and, in turn, my parents shifted before my eyes and their wolves returned the gesture. They rose and walked closer to us, touching their noses to ours. Something clicks and I hear mind-links from dozens of pack mates cheering our congratulations. Aila and I look at Artemis and our heart seems so full of happiness and love. Artemis wags her tail at us, reflecting the same feeling, and our father's wolf, Elias, interrupts our twin moment with a deep, loud howl; signifying it's time for everyone to shift. Wolves spring out from all over the crowd and with the go ahead from our mother, we lead our first pack run.
