Stay By Me (Heart Book Series #1)

Chapter Five

The voice continues to talk and talk. She saw a book at an unknown table. She picked it up. The book unlocked itself. She was awed at the beautiful cards inside of it. She had never seen it before. She says the name on the card. The card was written in ancient Japanese.

“ Kaze ga tsuyoi “ [Windy]

As she said the name, a strong gust of wind appeared underneath. The wind was so strong, it made all the cards fly away. And a cute stuffed animal that looks like a teddy bear appeared. It was speaking in Japanese. She tilted her head. She didn’t hear what the teddy bear was saying to her.

“ Ne!“  [Hey!]

“ Kii teru“  [Are you listening to me?]

Teddys crouches his eyebrow as if it was mad. The girl couldn’t take it seriously as he was cute. She looked at the teddy bear. She was mumbling to herself.

“ You’re so cute “

“ How are you able to talk ? “

“ You don’t seem like you run out of battery. “

The girl continues to poke the teddy bear as she picks him up.

“ Ne!“ [Hey!]

“ lkagen’ni shite “  [Cut it out]

“ Watashi wa omochade wa arimasen “ [I’m not a toy]

The girl was smiling. It was cute for the teddybear to get angry. He hit her in the head. She rubs it gently from the pain.

“ Who are you ? “ said the girl to the teddy bear.

“ Emasondesu. Watashi wa tedibeade wa arimasen. Watashi wa kawaii raiondesu “  [I’m Emerson. I’m not a teddybear. I’m a cute lion.]

“ You’re warm like a teddy bear. So of course you’re one. You don’t look like a lion. As far as I know lions are scary in real life “ said the girl to him.

She touches his head. Then to his ears. It wasn’t round like a teddy bear. It had a cat ears shape.

“ Okay I believe you’re not a teddy bear Emerson. What are you doing coming out of the book ? “ said the girl to Emerson as she raised her eyebrow.

“ Mochiron watashi wa koko ni sunde masu. Watashi wa sono-pon o memory tame ni Tsukuba remashita. Chu ni fun sa rete Lita macho no dado to issho ni“  [I live here of course. I was made to protect the book. Along with the magical cards that were sealed inside]. 

Emerson sighs. He also turned around to show it to her. He started to panic as if he’s having a heart attack.

“ Subete no dado wa do narimashita ka ? Masani solo ni arimashita ! “  [What happened to all the cards? It was right there!] as his heart beat thumping really fast.

The girl looked down at the card she was holding. Then, she looked at him. She tapped him on the shoulder gently.

“ Here is this the one you’re looking for “ as the girl carefully gave it to him and watched his reaction.

“ Soreda! Sore de, notorious wa dok ni arimasu ka ? “  [That’s the one! So where’s the rest of it?] as he was jumping up and down for joy when he was looking at her in delight.

“ Well that’s the thing. When I saw the book, it automatically opened on its own. And then when I said the name of the card, a strong gust of wind gathered around me. I felt it underneath my foot. And it flew away “ said the girl as she slightly lightened up the mood with a tiny laughter as he mimicked her.

“ Nani?! Honto?! “  [What?! Is that true?!] as he grit his teeth tightly trying not to yell at her.

The girl flinched at him from his voice.

“ Moshi sonara, anata wa anata no mauari ni tsuyoi maho no ora o motte iru on’nanoko ”  [If that was the case, girl you have a strong magical aura around you.]

The girl tilted her head to the side. She looked at him confused. He was mumbling to himself, but she heard it.

“ U’n.. Nani mo itchide wa arimasen. Maude unmet ga watashitachi o hitotsu ni matometa ka no yodeshita “  [hmm.. nothing is coincidence. It was as if fate has brought us together]

“Yoroshikuonegaishimasu. Antata no name no on’nanoko wa nanidesu ka?”  [Very well then. What is your name girl ?]

As Emerson says that to the girl, she tilts her head. He pointed at her. She was thinking. She didn’t know whether to give him her real name or nickname. She was trying to remember what her parents put on the new family on the paper. Then she remembered after she was in deep thought.

“ My name is Emiko “ said the girl to Emerson as she sighs when she breathes in and out.

“ Sate, Emiko. Watashi kara su-inchi hanareta tokoro ni tatte kudasai ” [Okay. Emiko. Stand there and there inches away from me] as he instructs her to do what he has to say.

The little girl, Emiko, did what Emerson said to her. He was standing above the book as if he was floating. He sighs. Then he breathed in and out as his eyes were closed. Then he says the incantation in Japanese when he slowly opens his eyes as he points at her while he continues. 

Japanese version

“ Ue no tail to tusk ga hajimarimasu. Koko ni watashi no tangan. Anata wa kiseki no shonin ni narimashita. On’nanoko ga watashitachi to keiyaku o shitai to motte imasu. Kanojo no name wa kuinshiemikosutadesu. Sora no ue no tengoku wa ima koko de watashitachi no koe no kilte imasu. A ki kanojo ni chicana o atae nasai! Ririsu! “ 

English version

“ Sun and moon above the stars. Hear my plea. You have become a witness towards a miracle. A girl wishes to make a contract with us. Her name is Quincy Emiko Star. Heaven above the sky hears us here and now. Oh Key, grant her the power! Release!”

As Emerson says in Japanese, a bright light appeared. It came out of the lock from the mysterious book. It was filled with magical aurora. The key was floating into thin air. It was severely protected by a strong white light. A light that resembles that of the goddess of light. The key continues to float into the air. It reaches towards the little girl. It was floating between the little girl and the lion. When the incantation was done, a burst of white light exploded like a bomb. 

It almost blinds the little girl. But, she covers her eyes really quickly as she closes them. A strange wand appeared as it expanded, while she was still covered in white light. She checked to see what was showing in front of her.  The wand looks like an eagle’s head that look-like an angel's wings. Her hand was facing her eyes. Her left eyes were closed, while her right eyes were still open. The wand waits for it to be grabbed. Then Emerson urges her to come closer to him in a command voice.

“ Emiko, isoide tsue o tsukamu “  [Emiko, grab the wand, hurry ] as Emerson called out her nickname rather than her first name.

The girl sighs. She breathed in and out. She did what she was told. She walks towards the light boundlessly. As she walks further into the white light, she grabs the wand instantly. The wand extended longer as her hand was on it.

“ Odoroku bakari! Maho shojo no tanjodesu “  [Awesome! It’s the birth of a magical girl] says Emerson.

After the event that took place in the library, the white light absorbed her. Time froze in the real world still. The white light surrounding her body enveloped. It was coursing into her. The light helps her go out of the book. She was in the library. It wasn’t a dream. She was holding a card. After she was accepted, the white light teleported her, Emerson and the mysterious book out of the library. When she woke up, she found herself in the room again. It was as if nothing had happened. But, it wasn’t a dream. 

She found the same mysterious book by her desk. The desk was near her bed. The stuffed animal was sitting up straight as if it wasn’t moving. And the strange wand wasn’t there. Time continues to move forward. She felt lost. She tilted her head to the side. She was wondering how she got home. She knew the dream wasn’t fake. It felt real. The evidence was right in front of her. When she touched her neck, she was already wearing the special necklace. Little did she know, other books within her area had witnessed it. 

It also gave her more than she wanted. She was supposed to be a normal girl. However; she was whisked away to be a magical girl. A girl who has powers. Her first job was to search the magical cards, seal them and write your name. She thought nothing would go wrong. She felt like she didn’t go out. But, she was wearing the same outfit that her mother gave her. She walked towards her window. The sky was clear. There wasn’t anything usual. She stayed home. She didn’t want to go out again. 

She sighs over and over. She knew it wasn’t a dream. Emerson was right there. She sat on the bed. She was thinking about what happened to her half of the day on Saturday. Her mind was in a mess. She took her earbuds. She inserts them into her. She connects her earbuds to her phone wirelessly. She turned on her phone. She uses bluetooth. She listens to music to help her calm down.

… MEANWHILE …

Far across the globe; on the other side of the city of Angel bridge; the six boys have arrived outside of a town. They got out of the airplane. They felt refreshed. They keep having dreams about a little girl. They don’t know why. Their servants reach the human world along with them. They don’t trust them. Their servant gave them a wig to wear. So, the boys could cover their real hair. And they also wear contact lenses to cover their true eye colors.

If humans saw their natural hair color and natural eye color; they would think they were monsters. The boys would be killed on the spot. As they were outside, they felt a change in the air. The boys knew they didn't eat human food. They could still eat it. But, it doesn’t quench their thirst or hunger. The taste was dull. They boys were one or two-years-old older than the little girl in their dreams. In the eyes of humans though, they thought they were teenagers. Girls are flinging and opening themselves to the boys. 

They rolled their eyes at them. They waited outside. They don’t want to stand out more than they already have. They like the attention, but they prefer to look for only HER. The little girl that they saw in their dreams. They couldn’t get enough of how she looked. Her scent was driving them crazy. No one knows that these boys are not humans. Nor do they come from the human world. They came from a book. A book where everything happens for a reason. A book that was about to be destroyed. 

Unless, they found a solution to the problem. The book has all the supernatural stories that were foretold by others. It was supposed to connect them to the real world. However; in the distant past; a horrible tragedy has taken that right away from them. Now, the world is in shambles. And the world is divided into many worlds. One is the human world. The second is the heaven world. The third is the underworld. The fourth is the magical world. The fifth is the supernatural world. 

The supernatural world was divided into two. One merged into the book world. It was their own defensive mechanism. In doing so, the book never had a happy ending. The people that were once in a supernatural world have become characters of the book. They had to follow the story. The story would end up not a happy ending. Since, the characters would end up dying. They would die if they had a happy ending. That was the curse that was placed upon them. 

The ones who did bad deeds can never have a happy ending. The second half of the supernatural world merged together with the human world. They end up having a good happy ending. If both supernatural worlds that were scattered wish to have a happy ending then they must have the girl with a pure heart. One who could absorb anything. And it won’t affect her in any way. This girl was said to be the reincarnation of the moon goddess. She would lay bare to the human world.

She would have the power to do anything. She would be able to change the course of what the book had. She cannot stay in the book too long. IF she did, she would stay in the book forever. There are limits to what she can and cannot do. It depends on the moon goddess from the book. They stared at the sky. They wish for it to be night time. So, they could go to sleep. And meet her once more. The wait takes so long. One of their servants has found a place to stay. It was in the outskirts near the forest. 

Within it, there standing tall and mighty was an old tree. It felt safe to lay underneath it. It had the same aura as the girl in their dream. It felt warm and wonderful. The boys sit underneath the tree. They looked at each other. They spoke to each other in a language that humans don’t understand. It was in chinese. They were further away from human land. They like to be alone. Their servants watch from afar.  As their servants are knights watching them and protecting them from danger as their shadows.

“ Weisheme women yao liu zar reniei juzhu de zhe uzo kebei de chengshi li ? “  [Why do we have to stay here in this pathetic city that humans live in ? ].

A boy who continues to hate humans even more. Especially when that foul woman tries to attack him.

“ Women die wu xuanze. Women hai Mei ado na’er. Women rengran kaolin tainshi ciao. Women jiashe qu xiatian de zuanshi ciao. Ta jiang dai women jinru renlei shijie de ling yibufen “  [We have no choice. We aren’t even there yet. We are still close to the Angel bird. We are supposed to go to the summer diamond bridge. It would lead us to another part of the human world].

A boy who also understood his pain. He sighs. He has to take a shower. He wants to take away the stench that the foul humans gave him. The fragrance that humans use was too much on them.

“ Women dai xiatian de zuanshi ciao tao hua duo chang shijian? “  [How long will it take us to reach the summer diamond bridge?].

A boy who sits up straight with his back touching the tree. He looked at the sky again. He wants to be away from these humans. It wasn’t worth their stay.

“ Tai juice women bixu zai zheli tingliu duo chang shijian ? “  [That’s too long. How much longer do we have to stay here?]

A boy who gets tired walking around. He doesn’t want to stand anymore. He sits still. He was with the other boys his age.
