THE COMMUNION

Chapter Three

Words of "good evening Mama" has been going on for more than let's see..... more than ten minutes from different people.

"Good evening Mama"

"Good evening sister Jael" I greeted back

"Good evening Mama"

"Good evening brother Cephas"

That was how it continued for about thirty minutes until Ezra called me out.

"Hey" he greeted

"Hi" I replied

"How are you and how was the program?" He asked

"It was great, as if the people were waiting for a perfect time to unleash"

"Yeah it was really scary" we laughed

"Ezra!!" Someone walked in on us. I know you can guess who that could be.

"Amina" he said in a way of greeting.

"Papa what happened to your friend, he didn't make it to studies"

Forgive me, I totally forgot to tell you that Amina is in a serious relationship. Your kind of serious relationship that everyone around you know the both of you will end up marrying each other. Her boyfriend Benaiah (Ben to all of us) is the closest friend of Ezra.

"I called and he didn't pick up, he knows he's to take a class today. Thank God you were there to fill in for him if not-"

"Amina breath" he cut her short laughing.

"Amina just say you miss him" I teased

"Yes I do, do you think I'll say otherwise? I'm not shy of any of you"

"Seriously?" Ezra asked

"Yes"

"Actually he's not feeling too well, he told me to apologise to you and he didn't pick up because he didn't want to bother you and affect your performance at Bible study"

"Awwwwwn" I coed

Amina was red all over that she couldn't even reply to the message.

"You love birds are something else" Ezra laughed

"Goodbye" Amina said when we reached out hostel.

"Bye. Annie can I talk to you for a second?" He asked

Of course I know what will follow. Even the person with the lowest IQ will know that Ezra likes me but I've been playing dumb since I found out and he hasn't made a single comment concerning that. There were no words uttered but the actions were clear. Ezra is a very reserved kind of person, calm, kind and self-controlled.

"Are you free this weekend?" He asked a question I didn't expect.

"Uhhm, I don't think I would be around because I'll be spending the weekend with Mummy V and daddy, I have an assignment to submit"

"Oh, I see" he looked and sounded disappointed

"But I'll be back for Sunday service, maybe we should reschedule"

"I wanted to take you somewhere but I think another time will do"

"Where are you taking me to?"

"You'll know when the time is due" he grinned

"Seriously? And I thought that the time would have been this weekend if I didn't have a prior engagement"

"It's clearly stated here, the time is not now, humanly to me it would have been this weekend but you see that's different with God"

"Yeah you're right"

"See you on Sunday after service?"

"Yes. Good night"

"Good night Annie"
