Chapter Seventy Four

1977 Words

One Week later "Cass please let me in." I hear Melody's voice from outside my bedroom door and I cover my face with the duvet. She should have already figured, no matter how many times she knocks on that door, I'm never letting her in. I don't know what part of being left alone that she doesn't understand. I just want to be alone, in a world where I get to mourn in peace. Thomas died and it's my fault. I don't know who shot him, but I know if I was honest from the start he wouldn't be in that church at that time. He would be alive if I didn't keep too much secrets. The first few days after he was buried I set it my mission to find the perpetrator, but all my efforts have been in vain. I feel like if I know who it is and why they did it, I'll feel less guilty. "Okay, I'm coming in."
