Maya left the mansion, she sat in the car, her mind drifting back to the early days of their meeting yet again; she recalled how he had them. “ You silly girl, I will………….” Chef Kim was not done lashing out at Maya when a deep voice interrupted her, “What's shown up at her restaurant just as he said. “ Maya! You can't do anything right” Chef Kim yelled. Maya immediately grabbed the diced vegetables and threw them into the bin; her hands moving shakily as she grabbed new sets of vegetables and began to cut going on here” Jaden spoke with a very cold demeanor. His guards were all around Maya, getting her out of the kitchen and into Jaden's convoy. The whole of “Kim’s Delica Seton” was in shock; the CEO of Stones Empire had come in and stopped Kim from scolding Maya. Maya recalled how shocked she had been, how Jaden had saved her from her mean boss. “Ding” her phone vibrated on her lap, disrupting her thoughts. “Maya, please forgive Claudia for what she said earlier, she was just being overly pampered due to her condition. She furrowed her brows, she couldn't believe her husband was defending the third wheel in her marriage. “ Mr Richard” Maya called Yes ma'am, the driver answered, stealing a glance at her through the rear mirror. “Do you think people change?” she asked, looking confused and helpless. Ma am, people can change, ours is to hope they change for the better”, he Stated and continued his job. Maya placed one hand on her pendant fondling it and the other on her belly. “ I just wish Jaden would give this little one even just a bit of attention,” she thought to herself as she stared out the window. “ Mr Richard, just take me to the restaurant,” she said, her attention back on her phone. “I am heading to the restaurant and Jaden I honestly don't want to set eyes on Claudia again”She hit the send icon and threw her phone on the seat paying attention to the lone roads as Richard drove. ************************* “Maya, sir Jaden is here” Ann revealed her perfect dentition as she had a broad smile informing Maya of Jaden's presence. “I am not in the mood for you jokes Ann.” Maya took a sip of water, placing the cup back on the table. “ You never take me seriously” Ann pouted, “ come, see for yourself” she grabbed Maya from her chair and led her to the office door. “Common, take a look” Squinting her eyes, Maya looked through the little opening on the door. Jaden was seated, fixing the bouquet of flowers he had in his hand, his gaze moving from the flowers to the door. “ Good God, it's really him” Maya’s cheek reddened, her fingers finding its way to her pendant as she fondled it nervously; She thought of the text she had sent him earlier, staring blankly at Ann “Go to him!This is not the time to wander off; go to your husband before You Know who shows up again” Ann asserted ,fixing Maya’s hair with her fingers and giving her a slight push out the door. “Maya!” Jaden walked towards her ,and with his free hand, he pulled her in for a hug, pecking her chin. “ I am sorry” he handed her the flowers. Maya took them to her nose and took a long sniff, “ Thank you for the flowers” she smiled, her cheeks reddening. “ That's the Maya I miss” Jaden pulled her in, kissing her passionately. When he finally let her catch her breath, she avoided his charming blue eyes looking at the ground. “ Do you forgive me?” Jaden stretched his hands and placed them on her cheek. He knew Maya was shy, she was always very timid to show attention publicly, especially with all the attention they were getting. She was flushed. “ I will do it again if you don't give me an answer” Jaden whispered in a husky tone; he was being cheesy. “ em em ye yes, yes!” May stuttered. Jeden let out a slight giggle, he enjoyed her timid nature. “ I want to make it up to you; let's go to Texas”. “! Oh really”. Ann heard the conversation. Oh my this is so cute” she said ,her high-pitched voice echoing in the kitchen. Maya smiled, she liked the mansion in Texas. Jaden had bought it for them as their wedding gift, and they picked out the interior decor together. Since their marriage, they have visited the house just once. Maya was happy, she would be visiting the Mansion once again and with her husband. “ Grab your things” Jaden took the flowers from her so she could grab her other belongings. Heading out, Jaden held Maya’s hands in his, leading her to the convoy. “ Bye Mayaaaa, have fun”. Ann shouted as the convoy left the premises. It was a long drive to Texas. Maya and Jaden had their arms intertwined as they sat quietly in the passengers' seat of Jaden's rolce Royce. “Tell me about your past with Claudia” Maya blurted out, breaking the silence. Jaden took off his Louis Viton shades, and paused for a while before saying “Maya, Claudia and I are just friends, both our families are really close, and we grew up together” he started. “I was a rascal as a teenager; heading different school gangs, mobilizing my friends to beat up anyone who gets on my bad book or Claudia’s” Maya nodded That explains why she runs to you for help.” He took Maya’s arms back in his, and paused for a while, he was hesitant to continue. “ I wanted us to have a thing then.” He took another short pause,and looked Maya in the eyes “But she refused; she said we were just friends, and she left for the States.” “It's fine Jaden, I'm just glad you have told me now” she kissed him, and they rode peacefully through the loan roads. ***************************

TEXAS

“Jaden will be here anytime soon” Claudia moved from one corner of the huge room to another. Opening the drawer, she pulled out a black dress, her lips curving into a smile. “Jaden would not be able to resist this”She looked intently at the dress, her lips curving into a sly smile. “ I have to make sure J and that low life get divorced” she looked in the mirror and said to herself. Reaching for her box of jewelry, she opened it and paused when she saw a familiar envelope. Opening the envelope, she took her seat. “DNA report” was boldly inscribed on the envelope. Claudia’s mind drifted back to her teenage years. She had found the DNA report of Jaden and old Mr.Stones, and it was negative. Claudia knew Jaden was not the rightful heir to the Stones' empire. “ No Jaden, we are just friends and nothing more”. She remembered the exact word she had said to Jaden when he asked that they make things official. “ I am so stupid” she yelled, throwing her box aggressively to the ground. Claudia was full of regret. She wished she had dated Jaden and had not moved to the state, to marry that old man for his wealth “ Now you have nothing, you fool,” she said to herself. She had cheated on her ex-husband and ended up divorced. “ All that's in the past,” she said “ I have to get Jaden divorced and take my rightful place in his life as his wife”. She looked in the mirror, her lips curving into a smile.

The convoy pulled over in the Mansions compound. Maya headed into the mansion, leaving Jaden with the driver as they engaged in a conversation inaudibly. The door opened before Maya could turn the knob. “Oh! Hi, Maya” Claudia said, the bright smile she had on faded. Maya’s eyes fell on Claudia’s cleavage. “em I think you are in the wrong house”, Maya stated while using her eyes to assess Claudia's provocative dress. She had a major part of her cleavage out and her legs were largely revealed in the see-through dress she had on. “ Oh Maya, don't be stupid” Claudia gave Maya a scornful look; she let out a giggle. “don't get too comfortable Maya; I had him once, and I will have him again even with the child in my belly” she sneered. Maya’s bag dropped to the ground “be careful, you just might hurt yourself” she laughed; giving Maya a slight push, and she headed towards the door. Jaden came in bearing Maya’s flowers in his arms. “Oh my! Jaden you always get me. I really love the flowers” Claudia took the flowers from Jaden, pretending to believe the flowers were for her. “ Claudia!!” Jaden called with evident shock on his face. He had his hands on his forehead and the other on his waist. “Why are you here?” he furrowed his brows. “Oh! I got the address from Maam Charlotte she invited me to stay” Claudia pouted “ but I will just leave if I am not welcomed; my child and I will be fine” She looked down at her belly and turned to leave when; “You can stay…..”Jaden blurted. Maya looked him in the eye, shook her head in disbelief and dashed out of the house.
