The Storyteller

Chapter 5 He has a girlfriend

They entered the cabin very quietly to wake up the girls. They were both surprised to see that they were already awake. "What are you both doing here?" Amber asked when she saw the two entered. Cherry ran to hug Alexa.

"Alexa, it's been so long since I saw you." She said it like it's been years since they last saw each other. "We saw each other at the bond fire last night. " Alexa said hugging her back.

" What are you both doing here? " Amber repeated her question as she came up to the girls. Alexa eyes fell on Amber. No wonder Xavier liked her, she was gorgeous with her long blonde hair and blue eyes. she was craving and fair in skin. every boy would want to date her. not to mention that she's a great actress and was top of the drama class. Alexa too was beautiful but her she was brunette and was two inch shorter than Amber. she was more of an athletic type of girl, she played the female basketball team and she was even made captain last year. her mom was so proud.

"We have something important to tell you guys and it might sound crazy but it's real." Xena said when she noticed Alexa couldn't speak but Alexa snapped out of it and started to explain the whole story about the Storyteller and how she needed help.

"Woah, so she like came out of the letter that's crazy." Cherry said. "And she said to go to the library for another letter?" Amber added.

" yeah, and you guys are gonna help us. " Xena said. " Does this makes you two friends now. " Cherry said. Xena was getting bored of this question and Alexa didn't even know what to say. " ugh, come on. can we go before everyone else comes out. " Xena was annoyed by this time. " We can't waste any time, we should go." Amber said. Alexa wasn't sure if trusting Amber was optional.

" Wait." everyone turn to look at Xena. "What were you both doing before we came in?"

Both girls looked cut of guard. "oh, well...we... and then... you, um" they bother stutter. They were both hiding something and Alexa wanted to know.

"pls can we just go, I'm dying to see this letter." Xena seem clueless about it though.

After giving the librarian a surprise visit, the girls were told that they were the first to step foot in the library since camp started. Well people come here to get away from school not take go summer school.

The librarian was pretty old, she must've worked here for years. After the girls searched all over the shelf and under it too they got tired. "Girls, it's time for your daily task." The librarian suddenly came and caught the four girls in the middle of searching. The all sharply turn to face the librarian with an awkward smile. "Yeah we'll be there this time." Cherry remembered when she took Amber to the mall a few blocks away and the bought a lot of things. That was their task, to find an activity they both like which was shopping.

The librarian was leaving when Alexa called out to her. "Wait... ma'am." They librarian turned to look at her. "yes dear."

"How long have you been working here?" Alexa was a little hesitant to asked. "well, almost forty years, why do you asked." the librarian replied. "just curious but..." Alexa trailed off. "Do you know anything about the Storyteller." The Librarian looked like she saw a ghost. The girls instantly knew she knows something. "How did you..." The librarian was shocked. "Come with me." They looked at each other before following the librarian.

She led them to a table and asked them to take seat. "They say that the Storyteller was as beautiful as the rising sun and warm as the spring blossom. She completed the stories of people that was unfinished and give them a happy ending, keeping balance between the fantasy world and our world. Legend says, that within these walls is a secret library of unfinished stories and when the Storyteller completes them they come here or go somewhere else in the world." she explained

" So you know of the Storyteller, is she a real person?" Xena asked. " of course she is. She has been to libraries all around the world even here."

" She... she's been here." Amber was now confused. " Yes, the secret library is somewhere within these walls. It travels as far as the sea goes."

" ok now, that's just exaggeration." Cherry said. " Young girls these days. you don't believe until the eyes see is it." The librarian said. "They say knowledge is power, maybe reading is the real magic." Alexa then remembered that the Storyteller had said that in her letter too.

Alexa looked at the Librarian but she was gone. " The Storyteller also said that in her letter, knowledge is power. " Alexa looked like she had and idea. "Are you saying we should read until we find the letter. " Amber looked like she understood it. "it's worth the try."

" Are we gonna read all the books in this library until we find the letter." Cherry was not having it. "No just the last shelf like she said."

They began to search all the books at the last shelf.

One book caught the attention of Xena, it was title knowledge is power. somehow she had this feeling and as she slowly open feeling nervous, she saw an envelope just like the one the Storyteller was in. "Guys, I think I found it." They ran to where Xena was standing and was all staring at the letter. "Xena, you're amazing I could kiss you." Alexa was so excited as she too the letter from Xena but she didn't know how her words affected Xena. They were all looking at the letter in amazement they didn't hear that someone was behind them.

"Why do you girls look so amazed and what are you all doing here." They were shocked to see Xavier. Why does this boy seem to be everywhere today. "Babe, what are you doing here." Xavier didn't looked moved by her words at all. "I came to look for Alexa and Xena." What Xavier looking for Alexa why did he look for his girlfriend instead. "I didn't see them this morning for the daily task, I thought that one of them had already buried the other so I came to look for you."

"And how did you know we were here." Xena asked. " I stop by your cabin but when no one answered the door I thought of the library."

"Sorry but we have to go now." Cherry said. "ah, do you know the daily task today."

"Yes, it's go on an adventure with your roommate." he said. "I smell something fishy going on." Xavier was getting suspicious.

"Oh, Xavier it's an all girls kinda thing you won't get it." Amber moved closer to Xavier and kissed him on his cheek. Alexa felt like crying. but she held back her tears.

Xena glance at Alexa and could see the sadness in her eyes. "We really have to go, you keep interrupting our fun." Xena scolded him. she didn't wait for a reply as she pulled Alexa by the hand and they ran out the library.

they were all in Alexa's cabin by now as she opened the letter. And just like before a woman came out of it. Cherry and Amber who were both just seeing something like this were in shock and couldn't utter a single word. "woah..." Cherry was so amazed.
