Chapter 1 camp

"Alexa wake up or you'll be late for the first day of camp!" My mom yelled from downstairs. Ugh... Can't she see that I'm purposely delaying just to skip camp.

Hear me out, I don't hate the idea of camp, I just hate the idea of meeting strangers or new people, which is practically the same. I love my life, my mom and friends. I know you're thinking, if you hate meeting new people how did you make friends.

Well, people are usually the once to make friends with me, mostly because I'm pretty and smart. Don't wanna brag but I am beautiful and hella smart.

The reason I'm even going to this stupid camp is because I don't wanna make my mom sad. After my dad died in a car crash, she's just been depressed, even though it was a long time ago. She even quit her job and started online writing. It didn't pay much but she loves it and I want nothing but to see her happy. I took on a part time job at a restaurant as a waitress and everything was just fine until now.

I lazily drag myself to the shower to get ready for camp. Ugh, this is so frustrating. I put on some short jeans and a red shirt and got ready to go downstairs. Well, atleast some of my friends will be there even Cherry my bestest best friend in the world I've known her since I was born. Well, not like that but, since we were kids.

Mom was putting the food on the table and my eyes immediately landed on the pancakes and scrabble eggs. "Mom, you always make me forget my worries." I said as I took my seat and was about to take some pancakes when my mom pull me by my ears. "ow, ow... mom it hurts." I cried out in pain.

"Aren't you forgetting something little foodie." She said. Oh, I forgot to greet her. I always forget to greet her when I see food on the table. " I'm sorry... Morning mom, ow... ah. " I said as she pulled harder on my already hot ears.

" I'll let you off this one time but make sure you don't forget again. " She warned. She then let go of my ears and sat next to me. " I hope you make friends and have fun at camp. " She said.

" Mom, I know that you want the best for me and I want to see you happy, camp sounds fun." at this point I was just lying. " But what about my summer job, it's an extra income for us."

" We are not gonna go bankrupt." She said looking bored. " We have enough savings and I talked to Mr.Johnson for you to take a summer leave. I've already paid for camp you can't let that money go to waste." She said as she gives me those eyes I can't say no to.

I was about to answer when we heard the camp bus outside. "no time, you have to go." She stood up and I followed her out the door. She gives me a tight hug. "be good ok and promise me to make atleast one new friend." Ok, maybe one friend wasn't so bad. "Ok mom, I promise."

I entered the bus and I was surprised to see must of my friends from school there. My eyes scanned the bus looking for cherry and I found her sitting at the back on the left. She waved at me.

"Hey Alexa, I saved you your favorite seat. At the back by the window." She said as I sat down.

" Guess what, Xavier Woods and his brat of a sister Xena will be at camp this summer." She told me and I was speechless.

Xavier was my crush since, well, forever. But his psychopath of a twin

Xena hated me to the bones and did everything to keep me away from him. Which I think was good because I was really shy to even talk to him.

"Why aren't they on the bus with us?" I asked and she look at me like I was a freakin alien. "They took their car, duh." Cherry said. Well, their parents were really rich business tycoon of course, they would take a private ride. "But I thought that the don't like camp and would never go there." I said.

"Well, they say that this is a punishment from their dad and their mom just said spending time outdoors is good for them." Cherry, always knows what's going on at school she was such a gossip bird and nothing past her ears. She was one of the popular kids but she was nice and fun to be around.

I'm one of the popular kids too, and I loved the attention but the boys, the boys were pain in my a** . Why can't they understand no means no. And this one guy Jake, is way worse. He told everyone that I was his girlfriend and he took it too far when he found out I was going to camp he said he was going too but I didn't see him on the bus.

I didn't even care, when I found out he was going too I felt sick and didn't want to go to camp even more. I guess he took his car too, his dad was rich too.

At the camp

A young woman who looked to be in her late twenties met up at the gate.

"Welcome to camp koala, to all the old camper you already know how fun this is gonna be." Oh, save me the t*****e. "And to the new campers, I like to welcome you to camp koala. We have clubs and games and I'm sure you'll have so much fun and make new friends too because here we're all a family." It sounded convincing until she mentioned " make new friends."

Save me the lecture, I'm already dying to get out of her, ugh.
