Chapter 4 Lady in the letter

Alexa went to her room and after arguing with Xena about leaving her shoes by her bedside. Xena went to bed.

Alexa, thinking that whoever send her this letter wanted to keep it confidential waited for Xena to go to bed. When she was sure that Xena was fast asleep she decided to open the letter.

'Wait, what if it's for a different Alexa.' she thought. 'But I'm the only Alexa here at camp and everyone knows that. '

Alexa was hesitating on opening the letter.

She knew she was the only Alexa at camp and also, she found the letter by her cabin. 'What if it's a prank?' she though.

After a lot of thinking she decided to opened the letter and omg what she saw left her speechless, she couldn't put how she felt into words.

the letter she just opened was a... a person?

no, it was a hologram or some kinda technology.

"Alexa, Alexa please help me. " the person in the letter called out. she had beautiful long brown hair. her call was loud enough to wake Xena. "hm... who are you talking to at this time of the nigh-" her words was cut out of her mouth when she saw the lady in the letter. "what the-"

"Alexa if you're reading this, or see this it means that I need help. no one can open this letter but you, only by your hands can it be opened. I know you're freaking out right now but I promise to explain everything. I'm the Storyteller but I've been locked up in one of the stories and you have to help me. I don't have much time. you need to go to the camp's library, there you'll find another letter, it's on the last shelf at the back well hidden. that's all I can say for now, I have no time, you have to help me help me,. Alexa and remember knowledge is power." then suddenly the letter vanished from Alexia's hand they didn't know where it went, it just disappeared.

"hey wait, who are you?Why do you need my help." Alexa said looking around her until her eyes landed on Xena who was still frozen in place. "pls tell me I'm not crazy."

"I'm too scared to move." Xena said. Alexa took Xena in her arms and hugged her. Xena was shocked by her sudden act, it was like electricity went through her. she didn't reacted. Alexa asked her to sit on the bed.

"It's okay, I'm scared too." Alexa tried to comfort her. "But whoever this is needs my help and I need you to help me."

"What can I do?" Xena asked.

" The library is closed by now so we need to go there tomorrow morning. I have to tell Cherry."

" Wait, you're gonna tell your gossip obsessed friend."

" Cherry might be a gossip bird but she knows how to keep a secret." That was one thing that Alexa was sure of. "Then I'm telling my best friend Amber too." Xena said.

Alexa tried to tell Xena not to tell Amber but she just won't listen. "Fine but only Cherry and Amber ok."

"Sure. Besides, they're roommates Amber with still find out." Xena said.

"Get some sleep, if we wanna find who this wish maker is we have to be up early." Xena said "as it's the Storyteller." Alexa corrected her. she was heading to her bed when Alexa held her hand and there it was again that electric feeling.

"Xena does this makes us friends now." Xena paused to think for a while before answering. "Maybe." was all she said. she didn't wait for Alexa reaction as she headed to her bed and went back to sleep.

"Alexa turned off the lights and went to her bed too but she couldn't sleep. She kept thinking about the letter and the woman who was the Storyteller? what does that even mean? When she looked at the time it was almost twelve. She let out a long sigh.

"Can't sleep either huh." she heard Xena say.

"Xena, do you believe in magic and ghosts...and all that?"

"I didn't believe in magic until I saw that letter and as for ghosts, I haven't seen that yet and seeing is believing so I don't believe in ghosts." She answered.

" wanna hear a story." Alexa said after a long silence. " I'm not sleepy yet so why not."

Alexa begin to tell her about the story of a teenage girl who became a princess because of a dream she had and was to rule her own kingdom but she didn't finish the story because she heard Xena soft snores. Alexa thought it was really cute. "good night, Xena." she whispered before going to bed too.

Alexa was the first to wake up and saw that Xena was still fast asleep. 'I thought you said we should wake up early or you didn't mean that literally.'Alexa chuckle as she got up to wake Xena.

Memories of last night came to her mind as she knelt by Xena's bed. Looking at Xena now sleeping peacefully, she didn't want to disturb her. 'wow, she looks pretty when she sleep. I've never seen her up close like this.' Alexa thought. wait what was she thinking. She shook her head and stood up to leave but she was just about to open the door when Xena called out, "you weren't thinking of leaving me out of this right."

She sharply turn around to face Xena. "It's just four in the morning." Alexa had just noticed that the sun hasn't even come up yet. "but the library is open by now, and the sooner we tell Cherry and Amber the better chance we have to get to the bottom of this."

"yeah but don't you think that they'll be a little freaked out to see us in their cabin at this time of the day." Xena said. "I too want to know about this wish maker-"

"it's Storyteller-"

"pls don't interrupt me." Xena stopped Alexa form correcting her again. "But now that we're awake we can hit the showers and head to Their cabin ok."

Alexa thought about it for a while before agreeing. Alexa was the first to shower. Xena took so long in the bathroom by the time she was out it was already ten to six. "What took you so long?" Alexa asked when Xena was finally out. "don't rush me, magic comes and go but not my beauty bath." Of course that was not true but Alexa didn't want to tell her that.

They were tiptoeing to Cherry and Amber's cabin when someone called out to them. "Where are you both off to at this time of the day?" They both turn to see it was Xavier. Alexa knees instantly became weak. his hair was jet black like Xena's and his eyes were baby blue also like Xena. Well they are twin so it's clear they'll have the same features.

"And exactly what are you doing out here too." Xena voice pulled Alexa back to reality.

"hey I asked first." Then his eyes landed on Alexa who was frozen in place. "So you're both friends now." A smile came ran across his face. oh that smile was to die for. "It's none of your business, besides don't you have a girlfriend." Xena's words woke Alexa from her day dream of Xavier and she felt her heart falling. Of course she would forget that Amber was Xavier's girlfriend. They've been dating form two months now and Alexa remember when she heard the news she didn't go to school for a week just crying in her room. She always forget that Xavier had a girlfriend because they're never always seen together.

Of they were seen together it's either with their friends or in class.

"What does that have to do with this conversation?" Xavier's voice pulled her from her thoughts. "anyways we have to go. See you bro." Xena pulled Alexa by her arm and her legs automatically started following. somehow, she felt a little better whenever Xena touched her. Not too long they stood outside of Cherry and Amber's cabin ready to go in.
