She followed her Aunt. She wanted to know a lot about Ethan. Why her Aunt does not want her to be close to the man.
"Aunt Ana, I think Ethan is nice ..."
Her aunt turned to her. "Yeah, he's nice ... he's nice especially when it comes to women."
Bela smiled again. There is no denying that the man's charisma is really handsome and strong. In part even though they were together Ethan did not escape in the eyes of the women present. She then felt that she was really special because she was the one who got an interest in it.
Bela can say that Ethan is the most outstanding of all the men present at that party when it comes to personal looks and manliness. He did not doubt that.
"I'm warning you, Bela. Don't get involved with that guy or else I'll wrap you up back in the Philippines right away," her aunt joked even though in her voice she was serious in saying that she stay away from Ethan.
And that's exactly what she was wondering. How did her aunt get to know the man and why is it that she just doesn't like the man for her.
Bela thought that they would never meet again but she did not know if it was a coincidence or if it really made way for them to meet again.
She was in the mini-grocery and was doing a part-time job as a cashier when Ethan passed by. The Mini Grocery is a Filipino-owned.
The man was shocked to see her there. It looks like they are very happy that they met again after their meeting at the party.
But she was the happiest. She was almost thrilled to see the man. She was able to control herself because she was currently on duty.
After her duty, Ethan waited for her to come out and invited her to eat. She was shocked to see the man in the parking lot of the grocery. He was leaning against the side of its car and seemed to be waiting for her to come out.
Ethan immediately greeted her when he saw her coming out of the grocery.
"Hi!" he greets her.
"Hello!" Bela replied nervously.
She feels her knees melt and her strength escapes.
"I'm really waiting for you!"
"Why?" she asked feeling satisfied.
"I would like to invite you to dinner!"
The man did not even say a second word and she gladly accepted it. Who can deny such a handsome man? Definitely not her.
“I was excited and I passed by in that place,” he said while driving.
Bela did not know where they would have dinner.
"Why?" she asked innocently. But eventually, she already knew what it meant.
"Because I saw you again."
"Geez! you're just flattering me!"
"Why am I flattering? Would you believe that I really regret when we separated that night that I didn't even ask you where I could see you again? Imagine, how long we've been together that time."
She just smiled.
"But now that I see you again, I will not allow that I would not know where you are staying here in San Francisco."
After that, they even went out secretly without her Aunt knowing it until she fell in love with Ethan and was completely in love with him enough to join him in the flat where he was staying.
Bela loves Ethan very much and she also feels loved by him so she did not feel afraid when she wholeheartedly gave herself to it. That was probably the happiest moment of her life even though she felt scared.
When her Aunt Ana found out about her relationship with Ethan, she forbade her.
"You won't get anything from Ethan Miller. He's a womanizer and you won't be taken seriously, I'm telling you," she reminded her.
Bela did not say a word. No matter what it says about Ethan it can no longer change the feelings she intended for the man she loves. After what happened to them, she could not stay away from the man. She loved him dearly.
Her Aunt sighed. "Your visa is about to lapse. I think you should better go back to the Philippines. After all, you have multiple visas. Just come back here again."
Bela felt sad when she remembered that she was about to return to the Philippines. She planned to return to America immediately after all she had saved money from her work but she remembered that she had not yet redeemed the farm that her parents had pledged so that they could provide for her.
When the day came for her to return to the Philippines, her aunt was unable to take her to the airport because she had a job. Ethan did not know that she was leaving because the man was not there because he had some business matters to take care of.
Bela felt she would die of grief. She seemed unable to separate from Ethan. So before entering the airport, she has already made a decision.
She will not return to the Philippines first. She will stay there first even though her visa has lapsed and her stay there will be illegal.
She just can't leave Ethan. Her reason is that her savings have not been enough for the redemption of their mortgaged land.
But honestly, the only thing that mattered to him during those times was Ethan. Nothing else.
Bela never returned to where her Aunt lived. Instead, she looked for a flat away from her aunt's place. It should not have known she did not proceed to go home. It will make her angry.
She easily found a new place to live in. When she was completely settled there she then called Ethan. He came immediately.
"I miss you ..." Ethan whispered as they hugged tightly.
"I miss you too," she said without stopping to cry.
"Don't cry honey," his finger wiped away her tears. They were apart for a month and a half, fortunately, Ethan had a mobile phone with him so she could call him any time.
"I thought you're not going to come back," she said
who continued to cry.
"I just took care a lot about business," he explained. "And I promised you on the phone that I will be back soon once I've got a chance. So, worry no more," he said cheerfully.
Little did the man know that she had been staying in America for a month illegally. What she uses to spend is the money she has saved.
Bela just rented a small room and because she could not get part-time jobs her money would run out and she was afraid that immigration would catch her anytime.
Ethan raised her face and kissed her on the lips. Kiss erased any fear she felt. She eagerly shared that moment with Ethan. She loves him dearly and she trusts that the man loves her too.
