TILLYThis wasn’t looking good. We needed to stall for time but if Valla’s sister didn’t pick up, there was no hope of saving my animals. I felt bad for throwing a tantrum but I’d never forgive myself if I let all these beautiful creatures be slaughtered by some cruel alien race or turned into glorified pets.
With every passing second, Valla got more and more agitated. It seemed like she was at her wits’ end and ready to give up.
Just when she was getting up from her chair, a light flashed green and a foreign voice spoke. “What?”
“Tamsia?” Valla rushed to her monitor, her voice hopeful. There was no hologram of her, but it didn’t look like Valla expected one.
“Who else would it be?” the voice, now identified as her sister, returned. “What do you want?”
