Chapter 2__ Luna I was not expecting my first day to go this smoothly. I thought all those unfamiliar faces would give me anxiety, but luckily, I was able to keep my calm. Can you imagine being a hot talk around college about how a professor s**t herself on her very first day of college? Yeah, neither can I. Shaking those thoughts away, I headed down towards the corridor when I heard someone calling me “Professor Ashby." I saw a woman around my age Asian, probably with a gigantic smile on her face. “ I am Freya Jenkins, a business professor. I have heard a lot of good things about you, so I thought I could come by and introduce myself.” Although I am not really into small talk, I don’t want to seem off rude, so I gently smiled in return. “I am glad it’s all good things,” I said. Growing up, I never had many friends until I moved here and met Lia, my flatmate. She’s the only friend of mine that I don’t get uncomfortable around. She is a social butterfly, unlike me, and boy, did we hit it off the first day. Well, we surely didn’t, but eventually we got along. With her personality, she truly brings out the best out of me. But it’s a workplace again, and I know I have got to make alliances. I don’t want any extra drama happening around my workplace. “It’s so good to have someone of my age around, I hope we can get along eventually,” she says as she eyes me carefully like she’s trying to read me. Before I can say anything more, she sprints off towards another corridor. My phone rings and i eventually smile seeing Lia calling. “ Have you met the handsome headmaster yet? ” She says right after I picked up my call. “ Well, hello to you too, I am doing fine thanks for asking, "I said with humor lace in my tone. She heard a rumor that the headmaster of Lycan university was insanely good-looking, and many female professors often threw themselves at him. While that might be true, I have never seen him in person to make any assumptions. “And no, I have yet to meet him in person,” I tell her. “Damn, just try taking picture of him for me, will ya? Meanwhile, I will cook your favorite bibimbap with a side dish, kimchi, for dinner,” she said. Now that puts me on hold. She knows I am a sucker for Korean food.“ I will try just don’t go back on your words." With that she hangs up on me. Just one picture of how hard that can be. With a mission in mind, I headed towards the headmaster's office. I had gone to his office before for my schedule, but apparently he was not there. So I have got one valid reason to see him. With a deep breath, I knock on the door. When there’s no response from the other side. I try knocking again, but this time I hear some faint voices: “You have gone too far this time, getting drinks inside college and throwing parties around. What were you even thinking? You won’t be participating in any sports till I say so." I hear a well-grown man say that he must be the headmaster. I hear nothing from the other side. For a moment, I felt like I was eavesdropping on them, so I decided to come back later but the moment I tried to turn around, the door opened abruptly, making me halt midway. Three boys walked out with no ounce whatsoever happened inside. While I am not an expert at reading people’s minds or faces. Had I been an expert I would never have gotten che…. I shake my head at that thought. Not today, I can't let the devil reach me today. As I said, even though I am not good at reading people, I can tell these boys scream trouble and probably come from a wealthy, influential family, which is my cue to maintain a good arms distance for my own peace. They have this weird aura around them. One looks like all this situation is nothing but funny to him, while the other one looks like he couldn't care less or pretends not to. But the last guy looks like he has got something murderous going on in his head. And he is the same guy I had made eye contact with earlier in my class. And he’s giving me the same weird look again. Do I have something on my face? Has my makeup been smudge? I resist putting my hand on my face. Right when he’s out the door, he leans slightly down and whispers in my ear, “ Carefully eavesdropping, now we don’t want you to get in trouble on your very first day, do we?… Professor Ashby." The way he said my name sent chills down my body. Right when I was about to say something, I heard,“ Come in professor Luna” from the headmaster.
