Chapter 99: Harnessing the Storm
Aria’s POV
As if the ground itself were getting ready for a storm, the wind howled through the trees, rattling the limbs. The ground felt cold on my skin as I stood in the clearing with my feet firmly planted in the ground. The raw, uncontrolled pulse of magic was palpable inside me. It appeared to become stronger every day, bridging the gap created by the broken connection that had previously held me in place.
I couldn't get rid of the uneasiness that accompanied that strength, however. I had changed from who I had been. Someone more careful, someone who saw the fine line between power and disaster, had taken the place of the Aria who had previously walked with her heart open and her trust unshaken.
