Every leaf rustling and branch creak was accentuated by the silence, making the forest seem alive all around me. I had sneaked out of the packhouse because I needed the privacy to think about what had happened in the last several days. Eva's warnings, Killian's protectiveness, and the rogues' constant assaults all consumed my thoughts.
But Darius was the thing that bothered me the most.
