CHAPTER THREE Tyla POV I let the water touch my bare skin and felt some inner Peace in the moment, while my eyes remained shut. Memories of Damon's betrayal and Jonathan's acts of treason played their way into my mind and I finally opened my eyes, when I recalled the scene of my Beta Jay driving wolfsbane poison into my body. All of them deserve death and although I needed to keep up with this new act, I was fueled with so much hate built inside of me and all I craved for was revenge. I stopped the shower and stepped out of the bathroom. My room was well decorated, like the princess that I was. I scoffed. An Alpha King would never have this all pink around her room. Annie's king-sized bed lay in a corner of the room. It was bathed with wealth, and I liked it. The only thing odd about it was the fact that she was girlie and had so much girlie stuff here. I was an alpha. The soldiers had been positioned outside the room to watch over me, but my curiosity increased at that moment. Who was the Rogue King that everyone appeared to be scared about? After I changed into a better outfit, I laid back on the bed, trying to think about adjusting to this new body, when I heard a loud growl outside the room. There was something about the growl that made my inside turn with happiness and also created sparks on my skin. I had the urge to find out where it came from but knew that the soldiers were going to be a problem. I got up on my feet and decided to use an old truck on them, hoping they would easily fall for it. I knew it could cause me a lot of trouble, but I couldn't care less. I pulled the door open and the soldiers turned in my direction. "Hey, hmm I need help getting one of my favorite accessories up the wardrobe, do you both mind helping me out?" The soldiers looked at each other and shrugged, stepping inside the room, while I stepped aside for them. Once they were fully inside, I closed the door behind them, ensuring to lock it, while they kept knocking aggressively. I walked through the hallway, hoping to find the one responsible for such a chilling growl that had given me goosebumps. When I turned to the right side of the mansion, I stopped in my tracks, when I perceived it; a beautiful smell of summer berries hitting my nose. It was too alluring to ignore and I instinctively decided to find out where the smell was coming from. As we approached the corner, I could hear the voice of Alpha King Damascus, who appeared to be angry. There were soldiers littered all over the room and I knew it was best to find another alternative out. While walking away, I bumped into a huge wall.. that is what I presume it was until I raised my head to find out it was a human. "Look what we have here, the princess herself. I have been looking for you," the man said with a smirk and I noticed his eyes darkened and he was allowing his wolf to take over. "Your head will be worth so much to my King." Alarmed at the threat, I moved my body away before he could grab me and make a run for the chambers. The soldiers who had seen me howled in anger and ran towards my aid, while my attacker was captured and incapacitated. One of the soldiers opened the chamber doors and helped me inside. "Annie?" I looked at the Alpha King's face and he was surprised by my presence. "Why did the soldiers leave their duty?" I tilted my head away from him and let out a gasp from my lips, the moment I noticed the man standing in front of the Alpha King. No, it cannot be possible. What was he doing here, at a time like this? The man standing before Damascus was none other than Damon, my ex-boyfriend. His gaze held mine and I could feel a connection between us building, but I broke away. "Jason!" He called and the other man I had seen in the hospital stepped forward. "Take her back to the room please." "There won't be any need for that Damisus. You can not keep my mate away from me." My eyes widened and slowly it began to make sense. How can the moon goddess be so cruel to bring a betrayal like Damon into my new life again, even as a mate? "Is this true Annie?" Damisus asked, a look of concern on his face. "Yes..." I responded. "I cannot have you near my daughter Damon! You are a problem to the kingdom and you don't deserve her." The Alpha King pulled me closer and took a defensive stance. "How dare you take my mate away from me? Taking everything else away from me I will accept, I won't have you take away my most cherished possession, not now, or ever!" Several pack soldiers stepped inside the chamber and behind Damon were his men, who held them back with a growl of their own. "Annie is my daughter and when I say you don't deserve her, I say it as the Alpha King, your King!" Damisus got up to his feet and tension began to arise across the room. "Are you scared that your daughter might accept me as her man? We are bound to be together!" I was still angry at him for the betrayal and ideas began to form in my head on how to exact my revenge. "And who says I am going to accept you as my mate?" Everyone turned in my direction as I spoke out. "I don't want to be mates with a rogue King, who has no life. I reject you as my mate." "You cannot reject me! You are mine!" Damon yelled but did not take a step, seeing there were consequences involved. "You heard my daughter, she doesn't want you. I suggest you leave immediately." Damisus warned. The tension increased as more pack soldiers trooped into the chamber. I noticed Damon looked behind him at the chaos that was most likely to happen. "Very well then, I will be gone," he said, raising his hands. "I just want to let you both know that I will be back and when I come back, I am taking everything that I ever lost."
