Chapter Fifteen
Meikah wanted to protest, but with how she felt, Maksim was probably right about how terrible they looked. She used the bathroom before she made her way to the dining room where Isha had promised to have food waiting for them. After seating herself at the table and drinking half the glass of water placed in front of her, Meikah glanced around to make sure the four of them were alone. She turned to Isha. “What did you do with the backpack I asked you to bring back to the city?”
“It’s in my bedroom.” Isha started to rise.
Meikah waved Isha back to her seat. “After we’ve eaten will be fine.” That was if she didn’t fall asleep instead. Yesterday had been a long day and this one was looking like it might be just as bad. Even though it had barely begun.
