‘I killed him,’ Sam said softly. Karen pushed through the stunned group to his side, her protective instincts taking over. She clasped his head to her shoulder as she physically turned his face away. ‘You tried to stop her.’ She pulled his head up to face her. ‘Don’t do this. There are going to be many more times from here on that you’ll have to do things, either accidentally or on purpose, that will be worse than this, and you cannot let it get to you.
