“Sir…” Lola spoke up again, this time her tone turning from indifferent and cold, to obviously irritated as she asked. “Why did you make her take off her ring?”
“You know what people will think if they see it.” Billy said as if it was obvious.
“I don’t think you care about that…” Lola knew the man’s intentions were much different than what he said they were.
“Does the reasoning really matter?” Billy asked as he sat back down at his desk and searched several filed on his computer.
“It does, greatly even. Would you stop trying to pursue Miss Raymore already? You have no business doing that… Especially not when she’s doing you such a great favor…” Lola said as she sat back at her own desk.
