“He’s not?” Billy asked with the most serious of voices he could muster. A part of him was extremely happy and the rest was simply confused as to why on earth the woman would lie about dating a man of such prestige.
“Yes… I’m sorry I messed with you when I told you that… I just felt bitter and wanted to get back at you.” Elizabeth confessed as she took a sip of the coffee the man had handed her. “It was in bad taste and you didn’t deserve the scare…”
“I’m glad…” Billy said quietly, so quiet the woman barely managed to hear him.
“That I fooled you?” Elizabeth questioned. She didn’t see why the other was so happy all of a sudden but he was smiling ear to ear.
“That he’s not a Monte… because that means I can take my chances…” Billy admitted as he confidently
