Ricardo cupped my face in his hands. His eyes were red, and even his voice was trembling.
"I know how unforgivable what I did was. I'll never do anything like that again. Can we start over?"
I shoved him away hard.
"What about the children I lost?"
Ricardo's face turned deathly pale, and deep pain flashed through his eyes.
"It was my fault... I didn't believe you, and that's why our child died..."
He stumbled back two steps, then dropped to his knees right in front of me.
"I regret it every single day. I really don't know how to make it up to you. I'll do anything, anything at all, as long as it makes you happy. Serena, we can still have children in the future..."
