Chapter 23
Ciaran sat on a three-seater sofa in a large sitting area in their Oxfordshire office as Robert walked Jamie in. He'd thought about using the office or the conference room, where he could keep an eye on the cell phone he kept on charge. But the sitting room seemed to be a friendlier place for Jamie, so he decided to have a chat here.
He needed to keep his cell phone on the charger so he could keep his wristwatch alive on reverse remote charge. Maintaining the connection across dimensions took a great deal of energy. He had placed the phone on the wall bench, where he had a clear view of it in case it flashed an incoming call.
