Chapter 21
Ciaran opened his eyes to find himself lying on the sofa, staring at the ceiling of his own apartment. His shirt was open at the chest. Every bone and muscle in his body ached. He hadn’t checked yet, but he had the feeling Tammy had left his apartment.
He sat up slowly, as he had a feeling that quick movement might cause his body to disintegrate. A pounding headache hit him as soon as he was upright.
What happened?
He mentally traced his steps. Got kidnapped with Robert and Tammy. Escaped, then rescued Tammy. Tammy told him she could connect him with Juliette so that he could ask her his final questions. Then, darkness.
He went to the medicine cabinet for some painkillers. As he took the pills, he caught his reflection on the glass door of the cabinet.
He was astonished.
