A fresh haircut and trimmed beard were becoming a problem for lots of people. You had to go to the shop, but finding the time for the daily ritual became more and more difficult. The commitments of the men were piling up and their activities were always more chaotic. Many planned this on alternate days, so as not to lose the sacrosanct afternoon at the club, at least the wealthy ones, as the poor never went to the barber shop. Miserable wives served that purpose.
Vincenzo Musumeci had overcome this difficulty. The arrival of Ventura to Mezzocannolo and the arrangement of the boy gave him the opportunity to receive the service at home.
