I grinned.

Aleksi snorted despite herself. “I hate that you sound excited, but I guess that fighting spirit runs in the family,”
Zeph muttered something that sounded suspiciously like a prayer to every god that wasn’t Zeus.
The first strike hit me without a warning, and I have to admit, it hurt like a b***h.
The worst part was that it wasn't a full strike, because Aleksi wasn't trying to murder me, but it was enough to make every end of my nerves scream.
How the hell does Kase endure this?
