"Duke Louis Devistone!"
Today is my first day and...
I'm already done for.
I froze down. Shiver was sent down to my spine as I heard his voice. No wonder everyone was scared at him. This is why I should avoid him but--
"Hey." I'm doomed. His tall figure is enough for me to quiver. It felt like I'm a prey looking at its predator.
"I-I'm sorry, Duke. E-Enjoy your visit." Before he can utter a word. I ran as fast as possible.
He was too handsome-- No, snap out of it. He's probably gonna kill you, you know?
I mean who wouldn't think he's handsome? He got a sharp jawline, smooth blonde hair, icy blue eyes, and masculine figure. He looks like he can kill you in a second.
"I apologize for my daughter's rudeness, Duke Louis." Diroe said as they watched his daughter ran away. He couldn't help but smile at her.
"It's fine. Let's continue." Duke Louis said as they continued talking.
'She's... interesting'
"Haaa... I seriously thought I was gonna die there. I totally forgot that he's coming..." Amelia said as she sighed and sat down on the library.
Knock knock
"Good afternoon, Young Lady... I've delivered some tea and snacks as Sir Cler ordered." Her voice was quite shaky and nervous. Well, can't blame her. If I were on her shoes I would be seriously scared.
"Yes, go in!" I said. I used my kindest voice as possible and opened the door for her. Man, I'm the kindest villain. I should treat them better.
"Y-Young Lady! I-I can open--!"
"It's fine, it's fine. Don't worry~!" I said as I helped her put sweets on the table.
"Here, sit down." I said as I poured us a tea.
"I-It's fine, Young Lady!" She refused. She's still quite scared but she needs time to process what's going on.
"It's fine! You've been working since morning, right? Besides, I've been quite lonely..." I should've won an actor award.
"O-Okay..." Now I feel bad. She's quivering and sitting properly. I should be nice starting from now on.
"Be comfortable~!" The novel was written quickly. The maids doesn't have an information. It felt like a... lie.
"Thank... you, Young Lady." Her face looks so confused. Don't worry you'll get used to it... maybe.
"The sun is shining bright, right?" I asked as I took a sip of my tea.
"Yes, Young Lady!" She tensed up and took a big gulp of her tea out of nervousness.
"Haha, it's fine. Calm down. You can call me Amelia." Please call me Amelia. Being called Young Lady is too...
"N-No! It's too improper for me to call you--"
"No, it's fine~! You can take your time. I would like to call you your name too."
"It's Elieah, You-- A-Amelia..." She tried to say my name.
"Elieah is a good name! Also thank you for saying my name!"
"N-No problem at all!" She smiled. It looks like flowers bloomed around her. Well, it seems like a simple praise can do.
We talked around. The tea she made was extremely good. The sweets are also great.
But what's more greater is eating being able to eat with someone.
I always wanted to.
"Well then, I bid my goodbye, Young-- Amelia!" She waved cutely. Seems like she's still not used to call my name.
I should think of a plan.
My objective is to avoid the Duke and the Protagonist. To achieve that...
...I should get out of this place!
Pack golds, clothes, and some necessary things.
But one thing... how can I...
Walls that are well guarded, a famous face, and I don't know where to go.
The novel didn't put every single detail. It only wrote down how they met and only the important details. It felt like the author itself doesn't know the characters. It was siding on the protagonist.
I should lie to them. I don't actually like it but... I currently have no choice. Let's just say out on an adventure to be a great magician.
Wait--
The Duke is still here!
I should do it tomorrow then. I'll just act like I'm busy studying.
"Duke Louis, may I ask you the purpose of your visit?" Marquess Diroe asked the Duke infront of him.
"You can stop calling me Duke, Uncle." Duke Louis said as he sighed. They sat down infront of each other at the office.
"Haha, that young little boy is all grown up now!" Marquess Diroe laughed. It was great to see his best friend's son and his student all grown up.
"Did you see Amelia? She was totally scared of you! Back then, she would cling to you... if that accident..." The atmosphere went down. Silence filled the air as the scars of the past opened up.
"Come on! How's your father doing?" Diroe tried to change the topic.
"He's doing fine. He's also very noisy." Duke Louis grunted as he laid back on his seat.
"Getting married? Haha! That's very like him! But he even got married at the age of 34!" Diroe laughed it off. Reminiscing the past he missed.
They talked a lot of things. To them it felt like minutes but it was actually more than an hour. The Duke who can finally relax and the Marquess who can finally remove the stress, they indeed loved the time that had at this moment.
After hours of talking, they lost track of time. After realizing the time, they bid goodbyes.
"Well then, it was nice talking to you! Tell your father to visit me sometimes too!" Marquess Diroe said as Duke Louis went inside the carriage.
"Will do." Looking at the carriage running far away, Marquess Diroe can't help but smile.
"He's been doing great. For 15 years, he finally went to see her...
You have my blessings, Louis."
"Young Lady, Wake up." A gentle voice woke me up. It was Grandpa's voice. He sure is goof at waking someone up.
"It's almost dinner time." Hm? Did I slept that long? Ack! It's already dark.
"Thank you, Grandpa!" I think the Duke should've went back home.
To be honest, I don't know why things aren't going the same way in the novel. The novel isn't a great help either. It was rushed and the story of the villain wasn't written. Hope I won't meet the protagonist.
Wait! She was written as kind, right? I should befriend her then...
What happened in the novel?
I don't remember... things were going...
No. All I remember was the ending. How did they met? Why couldn't I remember properly--
"Young Lady?" He snapped off my thoughts.
"Is there a problem?" He asked worriedly. His face was sour as if looking at a hurt puppy.
"No... there's none. Let's go to dinner!"
I should think about this. But, for now, I should think how to ask for permission to go on a journey.
It was the usual dinner. My brother suspicious of me, my father and mother talking as usual.
"Ehem..." I catched their attention. I placed down my fork and knife as I wiped my mouth.
"What is it, my daughter?" Mom asked. They looked quite worried.
"I was planning to... uhhh..." I scratched my face as I don't know what to say.
"I want to go on a journey...?" And with that silence filled the air. It took a moment for them to react. They dropped their forks and knives.
"You what?!" They shouted. It echoed through out the whole room. Even the Grandpa was shocked.
I got a tiring job to do...
