My hands trembled as I gazed at Sophie. Her eyes were fixed on us, and I could practically read her thoughts. The unease twisted my stomach into knots. I feared she might spill what she witnessed to Stella, further unraveling our fragile relationship. As I locked eyes with her, it felt as though she was peering into the depths of my soul. With purposeful steps, Sophie approached our table, wearing a façade of pleasantness. "Such a lovely day, Mr. Anderson.
