"What the heck was that all about?!" Jade spat to her baked, face.
Loving the hug that she just gave him, and perceiving how he scented didn't make chole regret at all.
A small smile crawled to her lips as she scratched her neck, nervously.
"Why are you being so mean? We used to be together but right now, you're making me feel awkward."
"You shouldn't have done something embarrassing in the first place.
What brought you here?" Jade asked.
"I use the gym, here." She explained and clinged to his arm like a child. "My lovely Jadee. You see, I want to go and get something to drink. I'm so thirsty. It would be nice if you'd accompany me."
"I already have prior engagements." He pushed her away, slightly.
He walked into the elevator, leaving her with her weird thoughts.
"Where on Earth is he going?" A voice cried in Chloe's head. "I'll have to find out. Sooner or later. It's not as if you'll hide from me forever, anyway."

Getting to Sapphire's neighborhood, Jade met her sitting outside by the corridor. She looked so lonely as she waited but Jade walked up to her, anyway.
"You really don't listen, do you? But thank goodness, you're fine."
"Well, of course. What possibly would have happened in that short amount of time? It's barely two hours since we left each other." Sapphire cast a brief look at him.
"Accidents happen in a single moment, you know?" Jade's keek.
"Stop worrying already. I'm scared enough as it is." She replied with a murmur.
"So why the f**k did you come here all by yourself?!" Jade blurted out, seeking for a reply.
"What am I supposed to do, then? This is where I live, Jade." Sapphire replied him gently with a smile.
As if her smile did something to him, Jade grabbed her and took her away with him.
Just then, Sapphire's eyes caught the makeup stain on the shoulder part of his jacket. She stopped and leaned over him, to smell it to confirm if it was makeup or not.
"What's it, now?" Jade asked, pulling her waist closer. He thought she was in a romantic mood and wasn't shy to show it even, outside.
She gently pulled away from him as a disappointing look plastered her face.
"Did you really go to the hotel to work?" She sniggered.
"What kind of silly question is that? Of course I did!" He reluctantly admitted.
"Umm... Well, you smell like makeup.
"What?" He looked at himself and sneaky his body.
"And I think you'll have to change into a different suit too." She pointed to his shoulder. "It looks like someone hugged you from behind. She must have missed you to much to have hugged you that tight."
"What are you even talking about?" He grabbed his suit from the back but his sight wasn't seeking it.
Just then, a frown crawled to his face as he remembered Chloe hugged him on his way out.
"Oh, damn it all!" Jade hissed annoyingly under his breath.
"You admitted with guilt just now, you know!" She sneered.
"No, it not like that!" Jade looked at Sapphire as I'd he owes her no explanation, adjusting his suit as the classic CEO he is.
Sapphire looked at the spot again, disgustingly. "It's not like you take the subway, either. So you even have makeup on your clothes at this hour?"
"Trust me. I didn't do anything weird, I promise." Jade explained with a little regret laced in his voice.
Sapphire stared at him sincerely. It definitely looks like you did, though. As kept starting at his back and walked into her room.
Following her inside, Sapphire picked some of the things blocking their way. She adjusted the chair and picked some of her books that were laying on the floor.
Jade's eyes scrolled through the entire room as he got in.
"There's nothing missing, right?"
"No, thankfully. My laptop is even there, so is my scrapbook of Gabby." She expantiated, while arranging her books on the reading table.
"Oh, my earrings!" She remembered and quickly rushed to check her drawer. "Zoey told me that they're really expensive!"
"Oh, they're here!" She brought out a pair of pearl earrings from her jewelry box and show it to Jade. A little satisfaction walked through Jade's face as he let out a silent sigh.
"Are you sure nothing is missing?" He asked with his eyes still searching the four corners of her room.
"The thief must be shocked, like, how is everything here, so worthless?" Sapphire was still speaking with him when her eyes caught her dirty, used pants.
They were laying on the floor along with her bra. The thrift had scatted the basket were she kept her used clothes.
Not wanting him to see it, Sapphire threw herself to the clothes and quickly packed them into her wardrobe. Not knowing if he'd even seen it or not but Sapphire was fast with it.
Jade on the other hand got a glimpse of her bra as she quickly closed the wardrobe.
"What about the contract?"
"What contract?" Sapphire turned to him in confusion.
"The one that we both signed and got notarized. The relationship contract."
"Oh yeah! Where did I put that thing?" She placed her hand on her head, wondering where it might be.
Here, maybe. She checked a drawer under her bookshelf.
"Oh, here it is." She brought out a brown envelope and handed it over to him.
"That's weird. I definitely put it in this box." She explained to him.

Later, they walked outside...
With this, Jade knew who'd do such. But rather, he kept quiet.
"There's no problem, right? Since you're safe."
The Chairman's will can't be made public, right?
Rather than that
"Yes?"
"The most important thing here is to figure out who was behind this. But regardless, you don't need to worry, Fire. This is something for me to resolve."
Sapphire nodded in agreement with a little receive. Then, her eyes fell on Jade's shoulder, again.
He pushed his mouth out at her as if he wants to hiss but his hiss wasn't audible enough. Jade takes off his jacket so she would stop with the awkward stare. As if he was pissed, he threw the jacket in the passenger's seat of his car as they drove off.
Yet, Sapphire turns back to steal glances at his stained jacket.
"What?" Jade started.
"Is that why you said you'd sleep at the hotel last night?"
Jade turned to Sapphire, dumbfounded. He couldn't believe she just asked him that.
"What kind of nonsense..." Jade hissed.
"I guess that woman is staying at the hotel, then." Sapphire concluded, especially with his attitude.
"I told you it's not like that. The relationship between Koko and I isn't like that-"
"Oh, so her name is Koko." Sapphire takes a smile at him but somehow feeling hurt inside.
It's as if she's got no chance in winning his heart or ever being with him, anyway. A lot of thought played through her mind but most of all, she just wanted the contract to end. It's so embarrassing discussing this with him.
"Stop thinking about anything, please. She's just a woman I know. We're not very close, I promise. Just family friends and business partner kind of thing, nothing more. Her name is Chloe. She goes to the gym at our hotel, and I happened to run into her on my way out. I'd never meet her for anything, trust me."
"Do people who aren't very close hug each other and stuff? One can know the product of makeup she's using by just seeing you." She rolled her eyes at him and looked away.
"I told you it's not like that, Fire!" Jade grumpily replied while everywhere went quiet. "How many time would I explain this to you! The f*****g makeup just happened to get on my clothes somehow!" He fired.
As if his voice echoed, Jade swallowed hard on his throat. He didn't mean to shout. He just let out a scoff.
Looking at Sapphire, he noticed she was facing outside, opposite him. Jade hoped he haven't crossed the line as he held her jaw, turning it to him but Sapphire didn't look his way. She faced outside through the window, reluctantly with a frown on her face.
Jade felt really pissed off that she wouldn't even look at him but he didn't want to shout or say anything more, not to offend her.
The thought of what do do for a while as he drove through the busy road.
"Do I need to continue explaining myself?" He continued, in a low voice this time.
"I told you. There's nothing going on. Yeah, speaking of which. If I were really cheating on you, I never would have made such rookie mistake. Do I look like someone who's hungry for s*x?"
"No." She replied and turned to him.
Watching Jade concentrate on his driving, Sapphire pulled up a soft chuckle.
"I was just trying out the role of a crazy-jealous girlfriend. OMG! Like seriously..." She placed her hand on his built arm.
Jade turned to her in disbelief.
"Just drive. I know that's how you expected me to reply so I just played along. Now that you know I've been pretending, just drive."
Jade looked at her again.
"Really, I was just messing with you." She rubbed his hair and shoulder playfully.
Jade couldn't help but to blush at Sapphire.
"She's just so cool, isn't she?"
