It's been a while since they last hold hands and enjoy the walk along the subway like it is, today. The hot afternoon sun stole a kiss from Sapphire's bare skin like a secret admirer, but Jade couldn't help but to love her even more. For the fact that she was looking prettier by every second.
"Come on, Mr. CEO! What are you staring at?" She asked him.
Jade blushed at her question without replying. She felt her checks burn a little, making her look away, timidly. Yet, Sapphire pulled him forward as her ocean blue eyes searched over the place. The gentle, breeze washed through Sapphire's Auburn hair like winds against the wave but, all in her mind was finding that restaurant.
'Elegancious Delicious' was the name of the place.
"Just a second." She stopped him and turned about like a merry-go-round.
Jade looked at her confusedly as she scratched her head.
"Is this not the place?" She held his hand with both hands and turned over. Jade followed her in the confused state, wondering how they got there.
Walking like lost sheeps, Sapphire took another route into a very narrow corner as they cane out to another street, still looking puzzled.
"Oh, there it is!" She pointed at a short building painted in yellow. Excitement spread through her face with satisfaction, as they both walked towards the building.
'Elegancious Delicious'.
Entering the well furnished restaurant, there were about thirty seated guests in the very large space. Jade wonder how he never knew about the restaurant, though, it looked so good.
Sapphire made an order as they took their seats by an empty corner of the restaurant.
"How did you you find a place like this when you always get lost?" Jade asked, still turning around, studying the unique construction of the building and the expression on the faces of other guests.
He loved it.
"I come here often with Zoey." She explained. "She doesn't eat much at home, either. Hurry up, let's eat."
It was French dip, a lap of spicy chicken and red wine that tasted like heaven. They both took yummy bites to fill their hungry stomachs not untill Jade's phone began to ring.
Ding-dong! Ding-dong!! Ding-dong!!!
It rang over and over again but Jade didn't want to pick it up. All he wanted was to spend quality time with his date while his phone vibrated once more.
Sapphire looked at him in a manner, as if she was saying 'pick-up the call' in her mind.
Scrolling through, he cut the call and muted his phone. Gazing at Sapphire, he noticed the concerned look on her face.
"What?" He asked, quirking an eyebrow.
"Fundamentally, people work to afford their living expenses, but here you are, with barely anytime to even eat." She murmured.
With what she just said, Jade had a sincere smile on his face. "It's not like this everyday." He opened up. "We have a VIP coming up all of a sudden, so..."
"It seems like this everyday, though.
You should head back after you're done eating." Sapphire muttered.
"Sure." He ended their conversation with a smile.
Meanwhile, Sapphire's mind traveled to Mrs Sandra. She recalled her asking if the chairman mentioned about Ace. That made her more worried and she decided to bring up the talk.
"That reminds me, Jade. Please, who's Ace?" She started.
"Why?" Jade raised his eyes from the direction of the food. "Did my aunt say something?"
"No, I'm just concerned. Since you mentioned him to me last time. I hear his name and I'm wondering... Who is he?"
"He's my cousin. My Aunt's son. He's also her only child as well." Jade let out a soft breath and looked closer to Sapphire's glittering eyes. "Listen, if Ace ever approaches you, let me know right away. And ignore him no matter what he says, okay?" He warned.
"How would I be able to recognize him when I haven't even met him yet?" She replied him in confusion.
"That's a relief, then." Jade pulled back from her, a little. "At any rate, don't ever meet with him. Ignore him from the moment you hear his name, got it?"
"Okay." She silently nodded in agreement, as he took a bite from the chicken lap.
Sapphire watched him eat as she wondered why he would stop her from meeting with this cousin. He feels like apart from being over protective of her, their was something he was trying to hide. She wanted to ask him why but she continued eating, instead. Not wanting to waste any more of his time.
After lunch, both of them walked out of the restaurant, and decided to chat a little bit before departure.
"Sorry, I can't drop you off."
"It's fine. You're busy.
Will you be able to get home by yourself? You should just take a cab." Jade suggested.
"I was actually going to take a cab to Zoey's boutique. I can find my way from here." She smiled.
"Good thinking." He muttered, placing his hands in his pocket, in style. "I don't know when I'll be done but I'll try to finish as soon as I can. And, I'll love to take you home from there if I have the time." He placed his hands on her shoulders, caressing with her cheek.
Sapphire replied with a pretty smile, while held her hand for a moment before letting go.
