"I felt that Gabriel's concept went well with ours, so the response has been good." Ace muttered, calmly. "Thank you." Sapphire smiled. "You need to thank him well." She told Gabby. "Thanks a lot, sir." Gabby bowed in appreciation. "But, um... Is it that you're having an event here next week to?" Sapphire questioned. "Oh, we already have someone for the main mall, but our Malls in Los Angeles, San Diego and Dapa Valley should be available." "Thank you so much, sir!" Both of them chorused. Sapphire was almost jumping out of her shoes, knowing that Gabriel would be sponsored by such a big group to perform in such prominent places. Meanwhile, getting back to the office, Ace noticed that Mr. Walter and Mr. Charles had a meeting. They kept it secret from everyone as Ace was curious to know. After his dad accompanied Mr. Charles out, he went to confront him on what they were discussing in private. "So, you're seeing Mr. Charles more often now? What's your business with him, dad?" Ace started with his grey eyes filled with curiosity. "Well, that old man has a lot of greed and time, so there's a lot to it. As you can see, I'm in the middle of a very serious business. What you have to do is to learn. Learn from me, son. Now, get back to work." Mr. Walter gently tapped his son on his shoulder before leaving. Ace couldn't help but to stare at his dad, Mouth-opened. Something is definitely fishy with the way he handles their family business. As it is, everything blue bird belongs to Mr. Stephen, Alejandro. He and his dad are just opportune to work just for family benefits. Ace didn't bother to question his dad anymore. He just hope to fine a way, if possible. A way out of his father's greed for money. A way of good money that leads to success. It was ghost-dark, Sapphire walked down the silent street. She was on her way home... Lost in thoughts as she walked. Just then, she noticed a flashy car packed up by the corner of the road. It was Jade's but she wasn't in the mood for him at all. She's always not in the mood, especially now when all she wants is to avoid him. Just for the benefit of it. Angered like an hungry dog, Jade climbed out of his car and banged the door close, furiously. "Where have you been?" His bossy voice sounded like an echo from the darkness. Jade's demanding voice stopped her, midway as she turned to him. "Gabby's Concert." She murmured like a shy child. "He's signed to an agency already! So, why are you doing this?! Don't tell me you don't want to see me again?!" He fired at her. Sapphire looked away immediately, "Well, it's because I'm the president of his fanclub." She looked around, feeling so guilty, making it look as if she was answering with her nose. "That's all for today, good bye!" She turned around without looking back. She didn't even want to take another glance at him. Sapphire just wanted to end it all. Quietly end it all if possible but Jade rushed after her. She ran to her door and swiped her finger immediately. The door opens and she jambed it. Jade tried to think about her attitude but he couldn't help but to laugh. "Why are you running, Sapphire. Do I have to remind you that we're dating?!" She folded her arms facing the door while Jade knock the door abruptly. "What do you want?!" She laughed at how he knocked. She couldn't imagine the curiosity on his face, already. "Did you want to talk about something?" "I'll tell you if you open the door." He smiled and waited for a while. Sapphire slowly, opened the door for him as he entered. She stayed by the door side, looking at him with a blank face. Jade smiled and grabbed her by the arm. Sapphire didn't want to go or feel his presence. A grave look formed on her face as she looked pretty furious. Jade pushed her to sit on the chair in front of her reading table, while he faced her, directly. "Okay then, what's the problem. I won't know until you tell me! So why? Why are you avoiding me?!" Sapphire looked at him, still angry. "You have to say something, Fire! I waited for you all day and you weren't even picking my calls. Whatever it is, I won't be able to solve it or give you an explanation otherwise, if you keep mute." "How many women have you dated before?" Jade stood at an akimbo, his eyes widened in surprise to her question. "Do you usually date them for at least, a month but don't date anyone longer than six months, or something like that? Do all you ex girlfriends signed a dating contract just like me?" "What? Are you really jealous or you're just testing me?" "Yes! I'm testing you! Don't dare cheat on me, okay?" About to stand up, Jade pushed her back to the chair. "When would I have time to see other women? I'm busy enough as it is, just with dating you." He explained. "Stop spouting nonsense. If you have time to do that, call me first instead." "How come you never call me? It's 5 months since we started dating and you've never for once dialed my contact. Don't you ever miss me? Wait, no! How come you never pick up? Why is it that I always have to be the one to call you first?" "Well... Umm... I'm busy!" She pushed him away and went into the bathroom. "I'm at least a hundred times more busy than you are!" Later, Jade went to his car without Sapphire by his side. It's clear that she wouldn't believe him. Looking up, he saw her still staring at him from the bungalow. Seeing that he caught her staring, Sapphire looked away and then looked at him again, a little irritated. He waved at her, happily with both hands like a child. This made Sapphire let out scoff and waved back at him. She couldn't help but to smile back at him. After this, Jade got into his car and zoomed away. Sapphire watched him drive away with a smile as she watched him drive into the darkness. She walked into her room and smiled at herself even though, there was no reason to. Having his around was fun. And annoying at the same time. Like a thief at night, morning crawled into the sky and became king. Everywhere turned bright and shiny, again. Sapphire was brushing her tangled stings of hair as she gently stuck it behind her ears. On her, were e a pair of black trouser and white shirt that fitted her a bit. About to leave, she remembered that she'd left her books on the table. Sapphire quickly turned back to pick them all up when a call suddenly go in. She answered it and placed it by her ears with the support of her shoulder while she continued packing the books. "Yes, Zoey. What is it?" Sapphire started the conversation. "There's something important I need to tell you. Haven't you heard the news?." "I'm busy, I have to head to work!" "Look at your phone, dearie." She advised. "Why? Did Gabby have a scandal?" "No, not Gabby!" Zoey tried to say but ended up gritting her teeth in frustration. "Fire! I'll kill that jerk that calls himself, Jade Alejandro. Should kill that guy for you?!" "What's she talking about?" Sapphire checked the screen of her phone. "Just a second." She muttered and scrolled through. Just then, she saw the news. Sapphire's eyes widened in total shock and surprise. It was Jade's picture and beneath it was the headlines. [Jade Alejandro, Grandson of B.B Company's chairman, Stephen Dixon Alejandro, To wed.] She scrolled through to read more... [Jade Alejandro of BB Company Is Legally Engaged to Chloe of Charles Chemicals.] The news had already spread like wide fire across the whole city and everyone were talking about their wedding. Sapphire scrolled to the comments and there were hundred thousands and more coming. ‘Awwwwn... They're so cute together!’ ‘What a lovely couple?!’ Sapphire's eyes turned glassy as she read through the comments. 'For the fact that Jade was seeing Chloe was enough torture for me and now they're planning to get married?' Sapphire thought as an enraged look spread across her dripping eyes. "Now, I'm definitely going to kill him." She said and dialed his number.
