*** "The kids are so happy to see you again since it's been a while. You're getting tired too right?" Mrs. Anderson muttered. "I'm so busy nowadays because of a contract I signed recently. And yes, with that, Gabby was able to sign in to a different agency." "Yes, he told me. I also heard that you played a big role in that. What can I say... Thank you." "Did he come by?" "Yes." His mother nodded in approval. "Wow, Gabby is better than I! And here I thought he was too busy to come by. Despite all his studying and appointments, he still makes time." "Gabby checked on us two weeks ago. And last week, he sent tons of snacks for the kids. He takes perfect care of them, saying they're his siblings. I'm so proud of him, all thanks to you, Sapphire." Clara added. "It's nothing ma'am, you're also like a mother to me." Sapphire checked her wristwatch and remembered she's to meet with Jade at 12:00 p.m. "Oh, that reminds me. I need to go somewhere." "Okay, then. It was nice having you today. Please, come and check on the kids again as soon as you can, okay?" "Okay ma'am." Sapphire assured her with a little smile and a tight hug. There and then, she took a taxi going to the museum where they planned to meet. Meanwhile, Jade had already arrived. He waited for her in front of the glassy skyscape, but she hasn't arrived yet. The taxi stopped her in the 6th Street as she started roaming around the place like a lost bird. Looking for The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum was difficult until Jade saw her. She looked so lost and confused. Jade narrowed his eyes as he watched her for a while. She looked pretty ridiculous searching the tall buildings. "You can't even find it while it's standing right in front of you?" Jade called back as she was about to leave. She turned around to see Jade as excitement laced her eyes she waved at him immediately with a bright smile. "Why is she smiling now?" Jade quirted an eyebrow as he directed her the way to pass. Finally, they walked into the museum, side by side. Sapphire was wearing a three-quarter blue jean and a big Thai- fashioned blouse that almost looked bigger than her tiny body. Well, she had a white sneaker on and a white handbag to complement the outfit. Jade on the other hand wore his usual outfit. Black suit, black tie, white sleeved shirt and white trousers. A typical CEO outfit. They walked upstairs to be the gallery were displayed. Seeing so much people, Sapphire felt overwhelmed as she hide her face out of fear of being caught. Jade saw her hiding her face like a scared rat and then turned to her. "Stop looking around so much! There aren't any reporters here!" He warned. "How do you know?" "There are CCTV cameras everywhere!" She cried. "Also, who knows what you'll do to me this time? You caused more than enough trouble for me last time at the Cinema." "What do you mean I caused you trouble?" A light frown appeared on Jade's forehead. She looked at him annoyingly. "Schoolteachers shouldn't be saying things like this. I've never been spoken to like this in my life! Why aren't you kind to me, uh? Every girl loves going to the Cinema except you. We're here again and you're complaining?" He hissed abruptly. "Oh, that's it. It's because you weren't disciplined well enough by your parents. This wouldn't affect the kids in my class the slightest." Sapphire pointed out. "What? Do you beat the kids in your class too? Do you kick them the way you kick me?" He asked excitedly. "All the kids in my class are kind and smart. They are well-trained and well mannered. They're not like you, and have some basic decorum." Sapphire muttered as she watched someone passing by. "I can't argue with you, Jade. Let's split up." Jade walked closer to her and placed his hands around her waist. "We can't do that. Let's just have a normal date, okay?" "Sure, we're dating after all." Sapphire agreed as they walked into the museum. As they walked further, Jade's eyes caught a colourful picture. On it was a painting of a white woman, a black man and their multicoloured, pretty daughter. The couple were fishing while their daughter had flowers in her hands. Watching the picture, Jade smiled at it as if he has a connection with the painting. He checked out other paintings as his eyes caught another. A mother with a cute baby in her hands. Waiting to Jade was quite surprising. "You're really a consistent person." Sapphire said to him. "Space documentaries, music concert, and now a gallery show. Doesn't your hotel sponsor dance performances?" She asked him interestedly. "This isn't related to my hotel's work." "Really?! Then why are we here?" "It's just someone I know that has a piece in this show." He explained. "A person you know!" "My aunt's husband." "What? Your aunt's husband." She turned to him. "So that's your uncle, then. How can you just call him a person you know?" She corrected. "He's family too!" Just then, Mr. Burke walked in. He went to Jade directly as they shared and handshake. Mr. Burke was also a black man. He was happy married to the Chairman's second daughter, Betty. "Nice too meet you." He greeted Sapphire, and she slightly bowed her head to him in respect. "Congratulations sir. Your paintings are wonderful." Jade commented. "Thanks, Jade. Your aunt couldn't come, but she misses you a lot. You know that, right?" "Yes I know." Jade nodded his head positively whole Sapphire smiled. Meanwhile, another, young and handsome guy looked amazed when he saw her. He was discussing with the photographer when he saw Sapphire, he couldn't take his gaze off her. "Okay then, I'll have to leave."" Mr. Burke noticed Jade's eyes were focused on her. "Extend my greetings to everyone in Paris." Jade muttered to him before they both parted ways. Walking away from the paintings, he realized how the stranger was also focused on her. Watching his look from the corner, Jade couldn't help but to feel concerned. "Excuse me sir. I'll be right back." He told the photographer before going to meet Sapphire. "You should have told me that he's your uncle." She murmured. "I told you. He is my aunt's husband." Jade made clear. "I need to refer to him properly. He's not my uncle after all." "That may be true but did your aunt remarried?" Sapphire asked, concerned. "Yes." Jade answered, nodding his head in approval of her question. Just then, the young guy walked to touch Sapphire from the back. She turned to him in surprise. "Oh, Rome! You're here too? What are you doing here?" she asked out of excitement. "I wanted to ask you the same thing." Rome replied her, not so excited though. He wondered what she was doing with the heir to Alejandro's empire. "I brought her here." Jade rudely cut into their talk. "Who's this?" He rolled his eyes at Rome's tall figure once more. "Ummm... This is Zoey's older brother." "My younger sister is Fire's bestie." He explained. "Hey, it's not like we just have a normal relationship either, right?" Rome reminds Sapphire. "No way. If you had any kind of special relationship, Sapphire would have told me." Jade wrapped his arms on her shoulders, making her feel uncomfortable in front of someone like her family. "Also, I won't acknowledge any make friends that my girlfriend may have. She's mine and mine alone, that's all." Sapphire eyeballed him, feeling so disappointed already. "It seems that it hasn't been long since you two started dating. And there's no way Sapphire fell for you first, based on her decent character." Rome smirked taking a closer look at Jade. Sapphire made a face at Rome not to worry about her as she covered it in a shy smile. "Well, it isn't important how long we've known each other or being in a relationship. Also, falling in love at first sight isn't the only kind of love out there." Jade pointed out, his hands still holding unto Sapphire as tight as possible. She tried to let loose, but Jade was stronger. It was weird, Sapphire didn't want to play along. "Anyway, that's not the case with me and my girlfriend. As you can see, Sapphire and I have already started dating." He stated clearly. "What? Dating? As if! Please, don't mind him. It's all a lie." Sapphire stammered a bit as she tried to cover up. "Then, excuse me." Jade grabbed her hand and pulled her away with him. "I'll call you later!" Sapphire managed to say before she leaves Rome's sight. "Okay, bye!" He waved at her as he watched Jade take her out of the room. Rome couldn't help but to wonder how Sapphire met him and what it was between the two of them. For some reasons, he felt Sapphire was dedicating herself towards his. But truth be told, Rome had had a huge crush on Sapphire ever since they were little. He hoped this wouldn't last.
