Morning sunlight filters through the curtains, waking me from a restless sleep. My body still aches, but the warmth of the bed and the comfort of the blankets provide some relief. I glance over at Lazarus, who is still sleeping soundly next to me. As I carefully slip out of bed, trying not to wake him, I feel a pang of hunger again. The soup from last night was good, but it wasn’t enough. I need more food and a chance to clear my head. I tiptoe out of the room, closing the door softly behind me.
