Someone pulls the heavy drapes aside letting the morning sun stream inside, bathing the room in a warm, golden hue. I stretch and yawn, feeling refreshed after last night’s exhilarating poolside party. My heart flutters at the memories of my dream, which maybe, just maybe, was about Malik. I shake off my lingering thoughts of him, reminding myself that today is a new day filled with possibilities.
“Are you girls ready for breakfast?” Tessa chirps, her voice slicing through the remnants of my sleep. I glance over at her, all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, and can’t help but smile.
“Absolutely! I’m starving.” Nia adds, bouncing on her toes. Arabella nods eagerly, her hair already fixed to perfection.
We gather ourselves and head down to the breakfast buffet, the delicious aroma of fresh fruits, pastries, and sizzling bacon wafting through the air. As we enter the dining area, I’m greeted by a feast that looks like something out of a culinary dream. Colorful platters overflow with tropical fruits, and pastries glisten temptingly under the soft lighting.
“Wow! This is amazing.” I exclaim, my eyes wide as I take in the vibrant spread. I grab a plate and start piling on fresh pineapple, papaya, and a flaky croissant, while my friends make their own selections.
“I wonder where Malik is? I was hoping he’d be here,” I casually mention, trying to keep my tone light even as my heart sinks a little at his absence.
“Girl, you need to let that go for now Focus on breakfast,” Tessa teases, nudging me with her elbow. “We’ve got a whole day ahead of us.”
“Speaking of which,” Nia interjects, her eyes sparkling with excitement, “I read about some entertainment area over by the beach. We should check that out today.”
“That sounds perfect,” Arabella agrees, her mouth full of fruit. “We didn’t really get to explore much yesterday, so let’s make the most of it.”
I nod, the idea of wandering through shops and soaking up the sun lifting my spirits. After breakfast, we gather our things and head out, chatting animatedly about what we might find.
As we walk toward the beach, I glance around, taking in the stunning landscape of the resort. The vibrant colors and the laughter of other guests create an intoxicating atmosphere. I can’t help but feel a little giddy with anticipation.
We pass through a shaded pathway lined with palm trees, and soon enough, we find ourselves in front of the entrance to and underground spa that looks like it’s straight out of a fairy tale. Intrigued, we peer down the stairs, but we decide to save it for another day..
“Let’s check out those shops,” I say, leading the way as we stroll over to the quirky little on-site stores filled with colorful souvenirs, beachwear, and art. Each shop we pass has its own unique charm, and I can’t help but admire the local crafts and trinkets displayed in the colourful tents.
“Look at those bracelets. They’re beautiful.” Tessa exclaims, pointing to a stall adorned with handmade jewelry. We stop to browse, trying on colorful beaded bracelets that jingle with every movement.
“Perfect for remembering this trip,” Nia says, slipping a vibrant piece onto her wrist. I can’t help but feel a little spark of joy as I find one that matches my outfit… a delicate sea-green bracelet that reminds me of the ocean.
“Look over there,” Nia points excitedly as we spot a sign leading to a tunnel. “That must lead to the beach.”
We head toward the tunnel, the cool shade offering a brief respite from the sun. The anticipation builds as we step through to the other side. What greets us is nothing short of a paradise… an expansive beach sprawls before us, shimmering under the midday sun.
But it’s what lies beyond that takes my breath away. A vibrant water park sprawls out, filled with slides and pools of all shapes and sizes. I can hardly believe my eyes when I spot outdoor and indoor discos, bars, and shops lining the edges, all alive with color and energy. There is even a tiny amusement park.
“Is this real?” I whisper, unable to contain my awe. “It’s like a dream come true!”
“I can’t believe all this is here,” Arabella exclaims, her eyes sparkling with excitement, and she seems to have forgotten everything about men for a bit. “And look! Free food and drinks everywhere.”
As we wander through the area, we explore even more quirky little shops filled with handmade crafts and unique souvenirs. Laughter echoes around us as we try on silly hats and snap photos, each moment more exhilarating than the last. The atmosphere is intoxicating, and the thrill of discovery sends my heart racing.
“Let’s check out that water slide,” Tessa yells, pointing to a towering structure that spirals down into a pool.
“Or we could hit the beach,” Nia suggests, her voice brimming with energy.
The day stretches before us, filled with endless possibilities, and I can’t help but wonder if Malik will show up somewhere along the way.
