Chapter Sixteen
A few days later, Elena began working at Frank Harrison’s manufacturing firm. She had barely learned to type and had no secretarial experience. Even so, Frank Harrison instructed his personnel department to hire Elena as an assistant and place her in the Market Research department. Personnel did not tell Elena that Frank Harrison owned the company. Nor did they tell her his son, Franklin, worked in Market Research. Frank Harrison made it a point to stay away from that area.
Like his sister, Francie, Franklin Harrison was a member of Mensa. He had graduated from college at eighteen with an accounting degree. While his mother, Beverly, was grooming Francie to take over her laundry business, Frank was grooming his son to take over his company when he retired.
