episode:6
The Banana Island villa was too quiet after the gala.
Adeyemi HOLIS dropped his car keys on the marble table and loosened his tie. His grandfather had hugged Sarah like she was already family. His mother had whispered, “She’s good for you, my son.”
And Sarah… Sarah had played the perfect wife. Smiling, quiet, clinging to his arm.
But now they were home. And the contract was back.
1 years No Love. Marital Duty.
He walked straight to the study and pulled out his laptop. “I have meetings,” he said without looking at her. “Don’t disturb me.”
Sarah nodded and went upstairs. Her heart was still beating fast from the gala. From how his hand had rested on her waist all night. From how Chioma had looked at her like trash.
This is not real, she reminded herself. This is business.
20 minutes later, she was in the master bathroom, wrapped in steam. She had just finished bathing when she realized it.
No towel.
She had forgotten it on the chair outside.
Sarah’s face went red. “s**t,” she whispered. She couldn’t walk out naked. The whole villa had staff. And Adeyemi was downstairs.
Her only option was him.
She wrapped her arms around herself and knocked on the door lightly. “Mr. HOLIS?” Her voice was barely a whisper.
No answer. He was probably in a meeting.
She knocked again, louder. “Adeyemi? Please… can you help me?”
The study door opened. Adeyemi stood there in a white shirt, sleeves rolled up, laptop under his arm. He looked tired. Cold. Billionaire.
“What?” he asked.
Sarah’s face burned. She couldn’t meet his eyes. “I… I forgot my towel. Can you… can you bring it for me please?”
Adeyemi stared at her. Wet hair. Bare shoulders. Shivering.
Something in his chest tightened. Clause 4. Marital Duty cannot be refused.
“Open the door,” he said flatly.
Sarah hesitated. “Just… just pass it through the small opening.”
“Open the door, Sarah.” His voice was low. Final.
She did. Slowly.
The door cracked open. She stood behind it, only her face and one wet shoulder showing. Her heart was pounding so loud she was sure he could hear it.
Adeyemi picked the white towel from the chair. He stepped forward to hand it to her.
That was when it happened.
The bathroom floor was wet. Sarah’s foot slipped.
“Ahh!”
Before she could fall, Adeyemi’s arm shot out. He caught her. Pulled her.
And suddenly she wasn’t behind the door anymore.
She was in his arms. Wet skin against his white shirt. Her hands gripping his chest. His arm locked around her waist.
The world stopped.
Sarah’s mind went blank. All she could feel was his heartbeat. Fast. Against hers. All she could smell was his cologne mixed with steam.
Adeyemi looked down. Her lips were pink. Wet. Parted in shock.
No love, his brain screamed. This is contract.
But his body didn’t listen.
He lowered his head.
And kissed her.
It wasn’t soft. It wasn’t planned. It was desperate. Like he had been holding it in since the day she signed the paper.
Sarah froze for one second. Two seconds.
Then her eyes closed.
Her hands that were pushing against his chest… stopped.
For 3 seconds, they just… kissed.
Adeyemi pulled back first. His breathing was rough. His eyes were dark.
Sarah scrambled back, grabbing the towel and covering herself. Her face was burning.
“I— I’m sorry— I didn’t mean to—” she stammered.
Adeyemi ran a hand through his hair. He looked furious. At himself.
“Go to bed,” he said coldly. “We have rules, Sarah. Don’t forget them.”
He turned and walked away. Back to his laptop. Back to meetings. Like nothing happened.
But his hand was shaking.
And Sarah?
She leaned against the bathroom door, towel clutched to her chest, touching her lips.
That wasn’t in the contract, she thought.
That wasn’t marital duty.
That was… something else
