Chapter 4 Visiting the brothers

Liam´s POV

I wake up early as always. I turn to watch my younger brother Chris still asleep on the other side of our room. We share a room at the Royal Academy. It´s an academy for the best warriors of all kind of shifters. I am here with my 3 brothers. Today is the day our younger sister is coming to spend the spring break with us. She has been coming for the last 5 years and everyone enjoys having her around even our squad leader who never smiles or laughs except when she is around. She is so sweet and honest that you can´t do anything but love her. The fact that she has got a great sense of humor makes it a lot easier too.

I stretch my limbs and get out of bed. I walk over to the closet and get a pair of boxers, black pants, and a white tee. My sister doesn´t like it when we wear all black. She says we look like a mobster whenever we do. I step into the bathroom and takes a quick shower. The hot water makes my aching limbs ease up a bit. We trained hard yesterday. There have been some weird rumors about killing vampires and werewolves in order to create another war between the two species. There has been a truce for the last 15 years but it is always very fragile and the smallest thing can set things into motion: Another war.

 I am miles away in my thoughts when Chris opens the door to the bathroom. "Hey are you done? You have been there for 45 minutes already!" He looks annoyed at me. I sign: "Yeah I will be right out!" I quickly get out and put my clothes on. I step out and Chris shakes his head as he walks past me into the bathroom. I put my sneakers on and when I am dome with my hair Chris is already dressed in black pants and a white t-shirt as me. We laugh when we notice the same dress code. 

We walk out the door and met up with Dean and Hunter who shares a room as well. Funny enough we are all wearing black pants and white t-shirts. Our squad leader comes out of his office as we approach the front door to the courtyard. He stops and so do we. He looks at us his eyes travel up and down. "I guess your sister is coming today huh? Well, what are you waiting? Go get her!" "YES SIR!" we say simultaneously. He shakes his head at us as we rush out the door. We walk out of the courtyard and down the street towards the station where we will pick up our sister.

"I can´t believe we haven´t seen her since Christmas. I really missed her" states Chris we all nods. She might be the youngest of us, but we all love her, and we miss her a lot while being away from her. I can´t wait to hold her tight. Especially after what happened last night at the high school party. I got a phone call from grandpa telling us that a school mate of hers was nearly r***d and that she helped the poor girl recover from the drug the guy had given her. She will escort him along side another team of the guard that was dispatched late last night to bring him here for the council to decide what to do with him. Apparently, the girl he tried to r**e is a vampire and a friend of our pack the Summer Ville Pack. Our squad leaders are all talking about how this could happen. I guess we will know what happen once Chloe is here.

On our way to the train station, we meet up with my mate Louisa. She lives in the city near the academy, and I met her at a local bar. We both work at the academy me as team leader and her as a nurse. I love her very much and I can´t wait for us to have pups but right now I want to wait until all my brothers are through the academy. Which means 2 years. “Hi guys!” She smiles to us and gives me a hug and a kiss. I pull her closer to me and deepens the kiss. I let her go once I am satisfied. I put my arm around her waist, and we all walk towards the train station.

As we get to the train station a car pulls up next to the curve and Math, Zack and Bobby jump out. They nod at us as they are in uniform and we aren´t. They are here to pick up the prisoner that Chloe and the rest of the Team 2109. The train is coming closer, and I can feel my heart racing. I don´t know why I am reacting like this. I know my sister can take care of herself, but this attack just got a little too close. Louisa can sense my feelings and hugs me. “She did great in protecting the girl, okay? She also helped her get the drug out of her system before they got her back to her family. The girl will be just fine thanks to your sister. No need to worry, okay!” She kisses me deeply. I know she is right, but I can´t help to feel a bit helpless that she had to deal with such a chock on her own.

The carriages come to a hold. The door opens and every person who has to get off rushes out and others get on board. As the platform is nearly empty, the doors to the last carriage opens. Ash gets out grinning from ear to ear. “OMG your sister is funny. She has done nothing but making us laugh all the way from Summer Ville to here. Oh, my stomach is hurting now!” Still laughing he turn around and reaches up to grab the prisoners. A huge guy comes to view. A dark-haired guy steps down from the carriage and Zack, Matt and Bobby take him away. Both Blaze and Chloe jumps down at the same time. Chloe hugs them and quickly runs over to us. I breathe out a breath I didn´t even know I am holding in. Louisa looks up at me and smiles.

Deans POV

Having my sister here with me makes me feel relieved. I know she can take care of herself but having this happening to one of her school mates and by a school mate, makes me feel sick to my stomach. I hug her tight and can´t help to feel the burning sensation of tears trying to flow. I try my best to keep them in. I burry my face in her hair. I don´t want her to know that this situation has me rattle up. I know that I am not the only one who feels that way. Everyone at the academy was upset with what had happen.

Shifters from all over the academy came up to us and said they are happy she handled it so well and that they are sorry she had to deal with it all by herself. It is strange how much impact she has had on the academy. Everybody likes her and she is friendly to everybody. Last year the dragons had an accident which made one of their team players injured so badly that they couldn´t finished. Chloe asked if she could take the dragons place just so they could finish the task at hand. Never been done before but the dragons agreed for her to help, and they finished in 2nd. They have been friends with us ever since. So now the rules have been upgraded a bit.

If a team is missing a team player and another team wants to help, and they agree on it then it is acceptable. We have to be 5 on a team and the game is simple. We have to complete different tasks dealing with strategic, fighting skills, agility and weapons. There is a lot of points to get but it isn´t only based on the week of the games also how we are doing throughout the year. Always the last week of the summer holiday and the families of the shifters come to watch the last day where the graduates are being called upon to join the rank of the royal guards. It is always an awesome day.

I pull her out so I can look at her. She looks up at me and smiles, kissing me on my cheek she says: “I am okay now that I am here with you guys!” I sign and let her go. She hugs Chris and Hunter. She turns to Louisa and hugs her tight. Louisa whispers to her: “I am proud of you!” Chloe hugs her even tighter. “Thanks!” she mumbles as she lets her go and turn to Liam. He scoops her cheeks, lift her head up and looks her in the eyes: “I am really really proud of you and yet heartbroken that you had to deal with it on your own. We all wished we had been there for you. And I don´t know what to say to make it any easier on you but you know we have your back no matter happens, alright?” He kisses her forehead. Saying all the things we all are thinking.

The fact that she attacked an Alpha no matter his actions can be looked at as a crime against a higher-ranking member of the shifter society and can be punished by death if she is found guilty and that she did it with ill intentions. Everybody is hoping it won´t come to that.

Liam has been talking a lot with grandpa about this and I know they have a plan if it comes to that they will help her disappear. But knowing my sister she probably won´t hide away. She believes that everything happens for a reason and most times I believe that too but this I have yet to wrap my head around.  

Hunter´s POV

Seeing my sister whom I have grow up with, always being close with, taking it so easy knowing that she might face the death sentence, makes me speechless. I know she is strong, but this is beyond strong. She knows that no matter what happens it is all a part of the Moon Goddess greater plan.

I still remember the day when Liam was old enough to attend middle school. She cries when the school bus came to pick him up the first day. She thought that he was upset with her since he didn´t wanted to attend the same school as her. She ran after the bus until grandpa caught up with her. She was crying so badly that all he could do was hold until she stopped crying and through her sniffles she asked if she had sone anything wrong or if Liam was upset with her since he didn´t want to attend the same school as her. She was 7 at the time. We lost our parents the year before. Grandpa signed, hugging her tight and grandma told her that Liam was getting older and therefore had to attend another school for older kids and that she would attend that school as well. The following year when Dean had to attend middle school, she had hugged him and said: “Now you are one of the older kids too. But I still love you!”

The hardest part for me was leaving her behind when I decided to join the Royal academy. That meant she would be all alone at the pack. I know she has a lot of friends, and our friends are still there all looking out for her. I mean I trained alongside her since she was 13. Liam was so proud when he learned that she was so talented and gifted that she had to train with the male fighters. She is strong, lean, fast and moves like the wind. That´s why she can take down even the strongest warrior. She simply out maneuvers her opponents and being so fast and fighting like an sss warrior have earned her quiet the reputation among the warriors of the pack and the surroundings packs as well.

She looks around at us. “Hey, I didn´t go through it all on my own, okay? I had my friends there. And I went by Rose Santino to check up and her, and she is doing okay. She can´t remember anything but the feelings she had. Which maybe is a gift in disguise knowing what was about to happen. Her brothers were really happy that I stopped by before leaving for the station.” She signs looking down at her feet. “I don´t even know why I went by her house. I guess I just needed to make sure that she is alright.” She says in a low voice.

Suddenly her stomach growls loudly making us all burst out laughing. “I guess some things never changes!” Liam laughs. Chloe can always eat. And she often eats more than the rest of us. Louisa smiles and grabs Liam´s arm. “Come on I know an Italian place where they serve the best and most fresh pasta you can get!” We all follow her towards the restaurant. When we get there, it is a nice small place really cozy and just a relaxing atmosphere. We sit at a huge table I mean my brothers and I are pretty well built, and we take the space of two normal people then imagine coming 4 and with two beautiful ladies yet a lot smaller than us. People tend to stare at us but here the owner just smiles and welcome us to sit at the center table out in the courtyard. It is quiet and the smell of the food makes my mouth watery. Once we get our orders we eat while we chat about our training, Chloe and her school, Louisa and her work. I really missed having her around.
