Chapter 5 The Crest Fort Pack

Xander´s POV

I can´t believe what happen Friday night. I met my mate and yet I still don´t know who she is. All I know is that she belongs to the Summer Ville Pack. Luckily, we are ally so me going over there to see if my mate is there wouldn´t be an issue. I just don´t know how to sell it to my parents yet. They still hope that she is in this pack but if she were I would have found her by now. I mean I turn 21 in 2 months. I sign frustrated by it all. Me having s*x with another girl, while I actually met my mate. How stupid was that. “Very stupid!” My wolf tells me bluntly. I know he is right. “But why couldn´t I smell her when I got there?” I ask myself. “Maybe she came later than everyone else!” my wolf answers me.

Pete comes in and Axel is right beside him. “Have you heard the latest?” Axel frowns. I look at him with a questioning expression. “The omega that hit Roman might get the death sentence because she attacked a higher-ranking member. Are they f*****g kidding me? That i***t deserved it for what he did to that poor girl!” Axel frowns obviously frustrating by the situation. “And now more and more girls are coming out of the shadows telling their stories of how Roman has attacked them and forced himself on them. There are more girls that the council believe has been drugged as well. This is a huge deal. Not only is he an Alpha that have forced himself onto girls, werewolves, but he has also done it to other shifters. And the omega that hit him might get sentence because of her saving another girl from being attacked by him. I can´t believe they are even considering sentencing her. She is a hero if you ask me”, Pete sign at the last statement.

We sit in silence for a while. I take a deep breath. I have to tell them, that I met my mate. I need their advice on how to get my parents approval to go and check out the Summer Ville Pack in search of her. “Are you alright? You haven´t been yourself these last few days!” Axel asks me. I look at him in defeat. “I met my mate that night. I am just not sure which one!” The guys look dumfound at me. “What do you mean?” Asks Pete. “I mean that I could smell her scent but then there were two girls, and everything happen so fast, and they were running to save the other girl, so I never really got to figure out which one that is my mate. I only know that they are from the Summer Ville Pack. I need to figure out how to tell my parents that I want to go look for my mate in that pack!” I sign deeply.

Pete starts to laugh and then Axel joins him. I look at them dumfound. “What?!” I ask them annoyed. “Simple you just tell you parents that you want to show the pack your support knowing that it is one of their omegas that might be sentence to death for saving another high-ranking shifter. Don´t forget that we are talking about Rose Santino the daughter of Ralph Santino one of the highest-ranking vampires in the world. That way we show our support to the pack, and you get to find your mate at the same time”, Axel laughs while shaking his head. I smile and pat him on the back. “Thanks, I really needed that. I will talk to my parents and you two get the car ready. Meet up in an hour!” We quickly move all together. We are quiet the team.

An hour later we are on our way. My parents think it is an awesome idea that I show the Summer Ville Pack my support and they have already let the Alpha and his Luna know that we are coming. Also, the reason we are coming. They have been receiving lots of support since no one believes the omega deserves the death sentence. However, we are the first pack to actually come and visit them to show our support. Two hours later we reach their borders. The Border guard nods to us and tells us to follow the road all the way to the main house. Once we reach the house Sebastian, Caleb and Cade are already waiting for us. We get out and I hug Sebastian. He is very pail and looks like he hasn´t been getting a lot of sleep lately. Which I can relate to. I haven´t been able to sleep much either. Every time I try, I dream that of that amazing smell again.

“Sorry, I haven´t been getting a lot of sleep the last few days!” Sebastian says almost excusing his appearance. I smile compassionately. “I can imagine. Will you show us around? Maybe it will get your mind of things for awhile at least?” I ask him. Knowing that my plan is to look around for my mate. He nods and we start walking. Before long we come across the other girl from last night. She shies away and retreat behind a tiny cottage. Sebastian calls for her to come out. I sniff the air pinecones and freshly mowed grass. I sign. “Okay so it´s the other girl, the one dressed like she just came from the gym!” I think to myself. She is introduced as Sherry. We shake her hand, and we move on.

After two hours we are sitting at the main house having lunch with the Alpha and his Luna. We talk about all kind of things. None of us want to talk about the elephant in the room. Luckily Pete asks the painful question: “So the omega that allegedly attacked Roman, has she already been taking away? I mean we didn´t see her around. Is she alright?!” His tone is full of concern. Cade answers: “She is visiting her brothers who are studying in another city. She spends all the school breaks there. So, fare she is doing alright, and we have people making sure she stays that way.” “Luckily everyone is supportive of her actions especially when they learn that it is Ralph Santino´s daughter that was attacked by Roman. Ralph has already told us that he will do everything in his power to make sure that Chloe O´Neill will not stand trial for her actions. Everyone sees her as a hero for protecting another shifter from harm!” The Alpha states. The Luna looks down with a heart broken facial expression.

“I am sorry I didn´t mean to disrespect you, Luna!” Pete says. The Luna smiles weakly. “That family have been through so much already. I just wished they could live happy ever after.” She signs, I look at her puzzled. “Her mother was one of the 5 omegas that Cassius kidn*pped all these years ago. When we got her back, she had given birth to Chloe. I even helped Chloe into this world and now she might be taken away because she was trying to help someone else!” Luna put her hand up to her mouth to cover for the pain she feels right now. “That will not happen!” I state making her look at me. “There are no one who wants a true hero to get sentenced because of that scum to Roman Valentino. I have heard that there are coming more and more girls forth telling their story about the abuse they suffered by the hand of Roman!” I state again making her smile faintly but still a smile.

After two hours we are one the road again. I look at Axel that is already working his magic. I want to know everything about my mate Chloe. My wolf is enjoying the sound of her name. Before we left, we went by where she lives with her grandparents. We talked with them, and they seem really nice. I took a look around inside the house while pretending to look for the bathroom. When I entered her room, her smell hit me like an avalanche. I know she is my mate. I just can´t wait to meet her, hold her, love her, protect her. Even though I know she can protect herself. According to Sebastian she is quiet the warrior so he isn´t surprised that she knocked Roman out. I grab one of her tank tops and brings it with me. I smell it and I feel calm and at ease.

Pete´s POV

This isn´t like Xander. He is really acting odd ever since that night where a young vampire girl was attacked by a young Alpha, he has been acting weird. Axel and I have been asking around and when the news came in that the young female omega, who saved the vampire, might be sentence to death, we were both in shock about it. It is only rumors but just the fact that council even consider it, makes me boil inside of rage. The Alpha who attacked the vampire has always been an issue. Always causing problems wherever he goes. His attitude has always been poor around omegas.

I remember meeting him years ago and he was just a kid at the time but the way he treated the omegas, it never sat right with me. Here in our pack, we respect every single wolf. Cause if there aren´t any omegas there aren´t a pack. The pack is only as strong as the weakest wolf, that´s why we train our kids to defend themselves and every teenager is trained as a warrior until they reach the age of 16. That´s where their wolves really change, and they find their mates when reaching 17-18. The Summer Ville Pack trains their young ones just like us. So, we have always gotten along well with their young Alpha Sebastian, his Bata, Caleb and his Gemma, Cade. They are some awesome young leaders. I believe we will have a great collaboration once we all are taking over from our fathers.

Axel puts his phone down. He is looking like he has seen a ghost. “What´s going on?” I ask him a bit worried. “The rumors are true. The omega might be sentence to death. But so fare 14 other girls have come forward with what that scumbag has done to them. The council is in shock by all these girls and all the evidence that they bring with them. The i***t filmed them and sent it to them afterwards in the case they wanted to tell anyone. In the videos they are begging him to f**k them. Make them c*m and things like that. However, in the videos you can tell that they aren´t themselves. My source tells me that they have all been drugged somehow. WHAT A f*****g CREAP!!!” Axel yells all the sudden. I look at him in shock of his reaction. He is always the calmest of us all, but not in this case. He really doesn´t take this easy at all. Actually, none of us do. We walked into Xander´s office with the news.

Xander´s face looks even more concern after we tell him what we have learned. He then confesses why he has been acting so weird. He has found his mate. I am really happy for him, until he tells us that he doesn´t know which one of the girls it is. And that he doesn´t know how to sell that to his parents. Both Axel and I start to laugh at him. We tell him how to go about it all and soon we are on a road trip to meet Sebastian, Caleb and Cade. Hopefully Xander will find his mate.

Hours later Xander finds out that his mate is actually the omega who might be sentence to death. I don´t know how I would react if that was me, but he is staying calm. Sebastian takes us to visit her grandparents. Her parents were killed by rogues when she was only 6 years old. She has had a harsh life. Her brothers are studying in another city and the grandparents makes us sit down in their amazing garden. Her grandmother brings us coffee and homemade cake. Sebastian, Cade, and Caleb are there with us as well.

“We are sorry to come unannounced like this. We just wanted to let you know that we support your grand daughter Chloe in this matter and will do anything to keep her safe!” Sebastian tells her grandfather while her grandmother is still inside the cottage. He looks at us like he can tell what we are thinking, right through us. He signs and in a calm voice says: “I know you do young Alpha. She is well liked and well protected no matter she goes.” He smiles when he sees his wife bringing us coffee and cake. I quickly stand up and go to help her carry the trade. “There is more inside the kitchen!” She says while nodding towards the cottage. Cade and I quickly go into the kitchen where two more trades are on the counter. They are full of fruits, plates, cups and things I have no idea what is. We grab one each and walk out to the garden where the others are seated. The grandmother looks at us and smile while she thanks us for bringing it out.

 It´s time for us to get home and Xander sent us a mind link: “I am going to look around the cottage. Keep them occupied while I do!” He says that he needs the bathroom and sure enough the grandmother shows him the bathroom upstairs. She comes out to begin to take the trades inside. Both Axel and I takes the trades from her and carry them inside. Cade has asked about the training ground and the back of the cottage so mr. O’Neill and the rest of them are busy out back. Xander comes down with a peaceful look on his face. In his hand he has some clothes of Chloe’s, I guess. We all look at one another before joining the rest out back.

Soon after we say our goodbyes and we are on our way home. I am driving the car while Axel sits in the back and Xander is seated next to me. He is staring out the window, he is very quiet. I look at Axel through the rearview mirror and he says: “I have looked into her life, social media her brothers etc. So fare she is a very well-liked person, always caring about others but one thing strikes me as odd. If she is training alongside the male wolves and can take down an Alpha, her wolf is one badass and very strong too.” The car is silent again. We are getting near our own borders, but something feels off somehow. We all feel it.

Axel´s POV

It has been a really weird day already so when we are near our borders, I can´t wait to get home. But something feels off. We all feel it. Pete parks the car on the outskirts of our territory, we sniff the air. ROGUES!!  We quickly shift into our wolves and run fast towards the smell. We find our guards holding back the rogues, but they are badly injured. We reach them and easily take down the rogues. We help the guards up and one of them says: “Some of the rogues got through the fences and are on their way towards the pack kindergarten. The Alpha and the others are heading that way too.” We quickly start to run in the direction of the kindergarten. We hear the fighting and smell the blood before we get there. 20+ rogues are attacking our warriors, the Alpha, my dad and Pete´s father as well. We join in and after a while we finally kill the last one. I run over to my dad. He has been bitten badly at his hip but tries to get up. His facial expression tells me that he is in pain. Really badly. I look at the Alpha and can tell that his arm is badly broken, and he is bleeding from a wound in his stomach too. I can´t believe this is happening.

We get all the injured to the infirmary where nurses, doctors and healers are standing by. The Luna comes running in from the safety rooms there is in the pack house. She and the other strong female warriors have kept the pack house safe. Taken down a few rogues themselves. Luckily the pack have been warned in time to get all the pups safe inside the pack house along side our old pack members unfit to fight. We have 3 blind ones and yet they can still fight, making them the last defense just in case some breaks through to the pups. She looks in horror at the scene in front of her. Her mate is badly injured, her son is carrying her mate to the hospital bed.

I have taken my father to the hospital alongside 3 other warriors that has been injured. My mother is one badass female fighter as well and has been by the Luna´s side as always. She comes over to me and hugs me. Helping my father into another room in the hospital. Soon the hallway is filled with worrying loved ones to the warriors, waiting for news about their loved ones. Xander mind links me: “Met me outside the pack house!”

I met up with Xander and Pete. We are all covered in blood, and we are all worried. Xander says: “My mother told me to contact the Royal Guard. We can´t take another hit like this when we are having some many injured. Also, we need to warn the other packs in the area as well. My mother says it is Cassius and his pack of rogues and other creatures that attacked us today!” “CASSIUS!” Both Pete and I exclaim. “I thought he was dead by now!” Pete says. We get to work. I call the guards and Pete contacts all the packs in the area. The other packs will send us help in form of food, nurses, healers, fighters etc. I am grateful our pack has so many allies. The guards will arrive in the morning. Xander is waiting with his mother for news about his father. Luckily, he has made it and will recover fully says the doctor after 6.5 hours of surgery.

I step out to take in some fresh air, when both Xander and Pete joins me. Suddenly our eyes pop out by the view in front of the pack house. 50+ men heavily armed with swords, bow and arrows, shields etc. the guards stand before us. All the guards are dressed in red colored armor except for a few who are wearing red and golden armor. Guess they are the leaders. One who is wearing mostly golden armor approach Xander. “We are the Royal Guard, and we are sent here to assist your pack until the warriors are back in shape! I am Commander Leo. These are the leaders of the teams that will handle the safety of the pack borders.” 6 men steps in front of us and reach out their hands. We take them and thanks them for coming so quickly. One of them looks familiar: “I am Liam leader of team 3693.” He says as he shakes Xander’s hand. “Are you from the Summer Ville Pack?” I ask as he shakes my hand. He nods. The 3 of us look at one another. “That´s why Chloe is such a great fighter. Her brothers are in the Royal Guard!” Pete says through mind link.
