Chapter 8 The Summer Holiday

Cassius POV

The Royal Guard really messed up my plan. But as long as they don´t suspect my little mole than I can still have my end goal. I am going to destroy every werewolf pack until I find what is rightful mine. My child was taken away from me all those years ago. Yeah, so what if I had kidn*pped 5 werewolves? I had also kidn*pped 5 dragons, 5 vampires, 5 elves and 5 fairies. Not forgetting the 5 bears. I wanted to see which species could mix well with me. I had one child with each of the shifters except I didn´t get a change to keep my child with the werewolf. She was recued before she could give birth and I could kill her while keeping the child myself.  

I know I am close because I can feel the child. Yes, I still don´t know weather it´s a boy or a girl but I don´t care. I just want my child, and no one is going to stand in my way. Especially not the Royal Guard. I hate those shifters. I hate the so-called authorities. They never understood what it was I was trying to do. They thought I was crazy, but I am just a scientist who likes to experiment and find solutions to different issues we shifters have. They didn´t agree clearly and made me their enemy number one. I don´t mind that because I am very powerful and have more money than any other shifter so having people do my dirty work is never an issue. I like to use black magic as well. And I have my own army of warlocks who doesn´t think twice about the potion they make or what they are used for.

Which leads me to my tiny mole at the Crest Fort Pack. I have given her a potion that makes her irresistible to the young Alpha making the pack weak as soon as he finds his mate, he will lose her as soon as she sees him with my mole. I love the fact that she has been so effective this past year. No other female wolf has been able to catch his eye as long as she is around, and she makes sure she is around a lot. Except when she gives me update on the pack. That´s how I know about the young rogues and how they got put down. They were all killed which put my plan a few months back. But that won´t be an issue I have more where they come from. The first pack of rogues had mates which I still control and now I can use them to attack the pack telling them that the pack holds the first pack of rogues as prisoners.  Then they will fight to get their loved ones back. But in vein which they won´t know until it´s all over and the Crest Fort pack has perished and I can look for my child in peace for the Royal Guard who will be all over the remains of the Crest Fort pack.

I am enjoying this way too much. I love watching what mates will do for another. I never understood that. My mate was a mere human woman of a farmer. I wanted to mate with her but her father wouldn´t let us so I ended up killing him and her entire family. Claimed it was the werewolves that did it. She believed me until the pack leader of the werewolves showed her what had happened to her family. You see he had the rare gift of showing images he got from your memories and show them to others. She died of a broken heart. The man she loved killed her entire family. The people she had loved her entire life. Well that´s my life story.

Mr. O’Neill POV

Something has happened at the academy. I can tell that something changed in Chloe. She has been so focused on her exams and training. Both my mate and I can sense that there is something off. And somehow that Alpha kid Xander thinks we don´t notice him sneaking in and take her clothes. I guess I better get to the bottom of this one way or the other. I guess I start by calling her brothers and asking them what happen. And I know that the young vampire girl she saved and her are getting closer and closer and so is Sherry. Those 3 girls have been hanging out together a lot. Chloe is back at her work as a fitness instructor at the locale fitness center. She likes to help out financially which we don´t need at all but we let her work anyway. We have raised all 5 pups to be very responsible and take ownership.

My mate is still worried about Chloe going to trial for the attack on Roman Valentino, but everyone has assured me that she will never stand trial for that since he has been accused of so many crimes against different shifters and r**e of a lot of female shifters. It makes me sick to know my beloved granddaughter went to school with that creep. I am just glad that her friend Sherry and Chloe took him down that night because of the investigation they were his next target. My mate got really upset when we learned that. She is still really angry about it and swore that if that kid ever gets near her granddaughter again then she will kill him herself. And I believe her.

I call Hunter since they have always been really close. “Hello grandpa, is everything alright?” He answers the phone. I smile when I hear his concerned voice. “Yes, everything is alright. I am just curious if you happen to know why a certain young Alpha keeps coming to visit and yet steals one of your sisters tank tops?” I ask him directly having a feeling that this is the cause for the change in Chloe´s behavior. He signs and I can tell that the rest of the brothers are there as well. “Put me on the loudspeaker!” I tell him. He does as I ask him. They all tell me what had happen: that they had forgotten Chloe´s birthday, that she found her mate having s*x with another female wolf, that they now know is under the influence of Cassius to take down the Crest Fort Pack, and that Chloe haven´t even talked with the poor lad so he could tell her the truth. When finished their grandmother and I begin to plan how we can help the two love birds out. Of course, with the help of her brothers. We plan that at the first weekend she is at the academy we will throw her a huge birthday party and invite her mate to come and make sure that they get some alone time so they can talk things out.

There is only one week left of this school year and her final exam is Thursday. And Friday she will be leaving for the academy. She will spend the holiday there while deciding what she wants to do after the holiday. We all hope that the academy will accept her as a fighter but only time will tell. “Oh, it is Sherry´s 18th birthday on Wednesday so she will spend time Sherry there I know that. So let´s ask her to join us and bring her with us when we visit you guys!” Mrs. O’Neill says. I love her so much. She is so caring. I know where my granddaughter has learned that from. I smile at the idea of bringing my granddaughter’s best friend to join us in celebrating her birthday.

Chloe´s POV

Today is Sherry´s birthday. I can´t wait for her to find her mate. She is my best friend and I wish for her to find her mate that will love her, cherish her and keep her safe for the rest of her life. I can sense my own wolfs pain by the thought of how our mate treated us. She wimps in the back of my mind. “I know sweetie. I know you are hurting but we will have to suck it up and move on with our life without our mate by our side. Hopefully the Guard will keep us busy all summer, so we won´t be reminded of it!” I can feel her sign and go quiet again. I am still in bed looking out my window. The moon is still up and I look to it as a tear runs down my cheek, I quickly dry it away. “Dear Moon goddess, tell me why you chose Xander to be my mate, when all he does is hurt me. Twice he had s*x with someone else well knowing he had a mate….Me!” More tears start to flow. I never let myself mourn the loss of my mate until now. I just have to wait for him to reject me, because if I reject him first, I might kill him. I let myself cry for the lost dream of being loved unconditionally, for having a mate for life and for all the pain I feel inside my heart.

After some time of crying. I get up and get dressed for another training session with my beloved grandfather. I look at myself in the mirror. My eyes are swollen from crying and I look really pail. I splash some cold water in my face and it helps on my swollen eyes and my cheeks get a little color. I quickly get my sneakers on and run downstairs. Grandma is standing in the kitchen as always. She smiles as she sees me coming down the stairs.

“So, what have you planned for Sherry´s birthday?” She asks while making breakfast. “We are going to the big lake at the forest and have a late-night picnic. Anna and Rosie are bringing a huge picnic basket and Mary is bringing the birthday cake from her grandmother bakery in the city. I will set up lanterns and create a piece of heaven for on the lakeside!” I tell her and smile. I am really looking forward to giving this surprise party for my best friend Sherry. I have even asked Rose to come. Her father told me that she could only go with her two brothers which I agreed on. I know Sherry thinks Adrian is a Goddess. She is over the moon by him. Sha has been crazy about him since we started school. Strange how the vampires are nice even to the lowest ranking members while our kind can be really nasty towards ours. It breaks my heart when I see how high-ranking wolves behave towards low-ranking wolves. We see it a lot in the guard. We are all repellent by it.

My training with Grandpa goes well and I am now off to school with Sherry. Her wolf is so cute and her parents took her for a run late last night. It´s brown with white paws and one white ear. I try my best to imagine her wolf and somehow she was right: It look just cute in my mind anyway. I smile of her description of her wolf. Anna and Mary join us. Rosie comes running late behind us. “Sorry I am late!” She says out of breath. “MY alarm clock didn´t go off, so my brother woke me up with a bucket of cold water!” she whines. We all laugh out loud and give her a group hug. We sing happy birthday while still hugging one another. Which makes us laugh even more.

The day flies by and now it´s 9 pm and the girls and I are already at the lake. Rose is here with her brothers visiting Sebastian, Cade and Caleb. Staying nearby but not too close. They respect our idea of an all-girls night. Sherry´s mother is bringing her. We all sit still as we can hear her mother guiding her with the blindfold on. Finally she is here. Her mother remove the blindfold and she sees us. “SURPRISE!!!” we all yell at her. Tears start to flow down her cheeks as she sees everything we have done for her. In every tree around the lake lanterns hang in her favourite colors red, blue and yellow. A huge blanket on the ground with all kind of food on it, a huge cake is standing on the a picnic table we sat up just for the cake. She is in awe. She completely lose it when I hug her. She cries out: “You did all this for me?!” “Yes cuz you´re our best friend and we love you!” I answer her. The other girls is standing around us holding one another around the waist. I let her go so the other girls can hug her too. I walk over to her mother who also have tears in her eyes of pure happiness. I hug her and say: “Thank you for being so awesome!” She hugs me back and says: “You are the most awesome of us all!” We laugh and I dry her tears. We stand there for awhile looking at Sherry as she takes it all in. “Oh, I nearly forgot. Here is her bag with swim clothes!” her mother hands me a tiny bag. She leaves us to get the party started. Rosie puts some dance music on and the party is beginning. We all change into swimsuits and then we dance around, just enjoying ourselves. After an hour or so we decide to hit the water. We play around in the water and after a few hours we finally get out of the water.

We sit on the blanket and Sherry is standing by the cake and has begun to cut it, when we heard the trees moves violently. We quickly get up and everyone in a circle ready for what comes out of the bushes. To our surprise it´s Sebastian followed by Adrian, Caleb, Cade and Sean. What happens next have us all in awe. Sebastian runs over to Rosie and grab her by the waist. “MATE!” Rosie is shaking by his touch. That´s when it hits me. Rosie is always wearing her brothers’ clothes just like me and her smell has been hiding under it until she washed it off in the lake. She didn´t put on another one of her brothers’ shirts. Sparks are visible where he touches her bare skin. He lifts her up in bridal style and carries her away. Mary joins Cade and Anna joins Caleb. We are all stunned by what we have just witnessed. But the surprise doesn´t end there.

Suddenly Adrian walks over to Sherry. He touches her bare shoulder and sparks are shown. Rose grabs my arm in shock by what she is seeing. Adrian looks in Sherry´s eyes, tears are forming in them. I can feel her wolf getting ready for a rejection. Somehow I am connected to it. “Easy girl, he won´t reject you. He loves you. Trust me” I tell her wolf and as I finished the sentence Adrian says: “You are my mate!” He caresses her cheeks as he leans in for a kiss. As his lips hits hers her legs trembles. He put his arm around her waist to stable her and the other one hold her behind her head to deepen the kiss. She puts her arms around his neck. I hear a sniffle and looks to see that Rose is crying happy tears. I side hug her and she puts her head on my shoulder as we just enjoy the view of the two love birds.

After a long and very emotional night I head home. Adrian have brought Sherry to his home. Her parents were so happy for her that she found her mate. So am I. My wolf signs in the back of my mind. Summer holiday can´t come too soon so I can forget my own mate or lack there off.
