Raymond anticipated his fathers call. He knew that was going to happen as long as he was informed about the failure of the contract. He picked up at the first ring. “Father!’ “Don't father me, Raymond. I heard of what happened. Why couldn't you let it work? You think he will be interested in cooperating with next time. All I have to say to you is that you just fix it. You must! You're pushing me to take this drastic step which you won't like. Fix it, Raymond.’ Raymond rested his chin I'm his hand. He was lost in thoughts. What was going to be the next step? Who does he think can help him? All these ran through his mind that he did not even know when his secretary stepped him. “Sir? Sir?” “What do you want? You don't have to show your face to me right now.” “I just want to show you, boss.” She said as she placed her tablet before Raymond who peered into it curiously. The lost cooperation between himself and Mr Wilson was all over the internet. He gritted his teeth in annoyance. “Who did this?” “Hmmm…sir.” “Answer me now.” He barked in anger scaring the hell out of the secretary. “It's…it's your brothers.” “My brothers? Those bastard?” “Yes, boss.” “You can go.” He said dismissively. Without wasting time, he dialed his eldest brother's number knowing fully well that they will always be together. “Hey champ!” “What the hell did you do?” He yelled. “What did we do? I don't think I remember us doing anything.” “Don’t play smart with me. Why the hell would you post that all over the internet?” “Ohh, that? I was trying to help you young man.” “Help me? Do you think that's how to help me? You f*****g ruined things for me. How do you think others will like to cooperate with me by what they saw. Sometimes, I just reason about you both. I hate you till eternity.” He said with regret as he ended the call. “s**t!!” He yelled banging his fist on his desk. Almost immediately, another call came through his phone. He scrutinized his eyes curiously. “Who is on the line?” “Am I speaking with Raymond Braine?” “Yes, you are.” “Good. I would like to help you.” “Help me?” He asked bewildered. “Yes, if you're interested, meet me at the address I'm going to send to you.” With that, the caller ended the call. “Who the hell is this? Want to help me?” He became so curious wanting to know what the person wants from him. The help is definitely not for free. His curiosity kept pushing him till he met himself driving to the address sent. He must know the outcome of what he wanted to be involved in. Not long after, Raymond got to the location only to meet the man already waiting with his back turned towards him. He cleared his throat to announce his arrival. They man turned towards him and there revealed, Mr Charles. Raymond was taken aback for a moment but was quick to recover. “Good day, sir.” “Young man, have your seat. I will go straight to the point. You're ready to listen?” “Yes, I am.” “I as well saw the news on the internet about the lost cooperation with Mr Wilson and when I say I want to help you, I mean it. Now, this is it, I will like to cooperate with you.” “What? You will like to what?” He was so shocked. “I will like to cooperate with you. You wouldn't like your father to collect it from you I guess.” “Of course. I'm so grateful you are willing to help. But…what I'm I giving in return?” He asked in doubt. “You're not giving anything. But you're going to marry my daughter.” “What?” “The only thing I need you to do is to marry my daughter. That's the only condition for me to help you.” Raymond looked on in shock, surprise. Marry his daughter? His daughter? He was not even ready for marriage yet let alone get married to someone he has never seen in his entire life. “I understand the way you feel. Love? It comes when you two live together.” “Sir…can you give me time to think over this?” “Sure. You have my contact now. Think over it and get back to me. I will he waiting but I'm sorry, I might not wait for long.” Raymond nodded his head at Mr Charles before getting up to leave. Mr Charles smirked as soon as Raymond left. He knows that he will have no choice than to sign the contract with him. With smiles on his face, he left for his house. “There is good news.” He announced to his wife and daughter. Carolyn was at work as usual. “What's that, dad?” “Honey, let's hear you.” “Raymond Braine is going to sign a contract with us.” “Really?” Tabitha exclaimed. Clara on the other hand just scoffed. She was not freaked by that fact. “And in return, he is going to marry my daughter.” This time, Clara's attention was drawn. “Who is he going to marry, father?” “You, my daughter. I know you're happy.” “f**k happiness, father. I'm not marrying him.” She yelled on top of her voice. “What?” “Clara, what's the problem? Her mother asked with concern. “I'm not getting married to him, father, mother, I'm not.” Her parents realized she was serious about her decision when she started crying. This really got them concerned. “Clara, I understand your point but can you really tell me what's wrong. Why can't you marry him? He has everything a lady will ever dream of in her man.” Her father interjected. “I have a lover, father. I'm really in love with him and I don't want to leave him.” “My husband, let us consider our daughters happiness. She does not want to marry him and she has laid down a tangible reason. Let us give in.” Her funny mother advised. “I will readily agreed to this. But what do you think we should do? I can't just cancel the contract.” Tabitha broke into a scoff looking at her daughter to her husband. “Princess…” “What?” Mr Charles asked. He was confused. What has Princess got to do with this?” “She is also your daughter. You can marry her off. What do you think.” Silence permeated the room. Mr Charles was in lost in thoughts. He actually did not reson that. He did not notice the knowing look exchange between mother and daughter. They were up to no good. “Can you believe I never thought of this. It is a very good idea. I will take to you about that.” Mother and daughter smirked in relief. Princess who came in long ago heard about their plan. It really showed she was so displeased about this. “Father!” If everyone was to eve do this to her, she never imagined her father would do this. She tried searching his eyes but he wasn't meeting her eyes. He was guilty as charged. “You don't have a choice, bitch.” Her stepmother insulted. Maybe she was right after all. Does she really have no choice?
