It was the third Sunday in June and Reverend Matthews was preparing for a Christening that would take place within the usual Sunday Service. It was the first one he"d had to conduct since moving to the town and he felt very agitated. You see, the vicar wasn"t particularly tolerant of children, he hadn"t really had much contact with them within his own family and the youngsters who attended church annoyed him with their constant fidgeting and complaining. Christenings were the bane of his life, he just knew that the baby being blessed would cry the minute he splashed water over its head.
