Chapter Four – Ted Bennett As the weeks passed, Reverend Matthews fell into a routine. He could now remember the names of about half of his congregation without being prompted by either Elizabeth or Martin Fry and he had also come to appreciate what hard-working citizens he had in his little community. The majority of the local men were employed in the coal mines which dominated the fields on the far edge of town, nestled in a valley and shadowed by steep hillsides.
